CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

1618 Words

CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO Well, Reuben, my dear old chap, looks like you’ve finally done it. You’ve gotten yourself into a predicament you can’t just wiggle your way out of. Thirty years of crisscrossing the continent, in the some of the worst environments known to man, only to be apprehended by happenstance. Done in by your carnal desire for a nice good toss in the middle of the workday. You probably would’ve been better off finding a local pub and wanking one off in the loo. Life was ironic in that way. Just when you thought you had it all figured out—it would sneakily remind you that you didn’t know a god damned thing. Not by a longshot. Bollocks. The conference room door opened. The younger and rounder of the two detectives, Mazibuko, entered carrying a Nando’s to-go bag in his left hand.
