DEPRESSED

258 Words

AMARA'S POV I was stunned to my core. Don't get me wrong. I didn't enjoy sleeping on that lousy king-size bed knowing that Rylan was somewhere behind the walls, with easy access to me. But this, this was a bombshell. I hadn't seen it coming. “Wh-wh-what.” Rylan scoffed, cutting me off. “What? You think I would give you the luxury of staying in the pack house?” He paused. “Sad thing, you don't even know your place–” I cut him off before he could finish his statement. “I know my place, Rylan Walton! If there's anyone between us who doesn't know his place, then it's you.” My blood simmered with anger. I should've held back on my emotions. I should've ignored his petty talk. Yet, I'd foolishly gone ahead to indulge him. His eyes glistened with a strange emotion I couldn't decipher.
