AMARA'S POV
Colour drained from Louisa's face at my declaration. A few beats passed, and she didn't make the slightest sound.
“Rylan would make a mess of a Blue diamond pack,” she spat when she finally found her tongue.
My lips were lined in defiance, “I have made up my mind. You have to deal with it,” I was on the brink of sobbing. “Louisa, do you know what it means to spend Christmas away from my family for a whole month?”
She shook her head. “I'm sorry. I know you are devastated, but you have to think of your pack Amy,” Louisa shot her arms out and placed a hand on my shoulder. “We'll be with you every step of the way. I will. I'm sure your family and the whole pack would too.”
My eyes turned bright with unshed tears. I felt so numb, I could barely feel my wolf. Then, an idea popped up in my head. It was so awesome, the minute it pieced in my brain, I'd started executing it.
“How about rejecting him?” I quipped. This was the last string of hope I was holding on. “I mean, I felt the mate bond between us,” my mind flickered back to last night's incident. “If I–if I break it, then I'll be free.”
Louisa didn't seem to buy the idea, because she said. “Amara, rejecting Rylan Walton would be shredding yourself to pieces,” Louisa began. “The mate bond between a Lycan and a she-wolf is bound forever Amy.”
Something about the way she spoke made me helpless. Louisa has a point. I couldn't risk the entire Blue Diamond pack because I was running away from my fate.
Her hands dropped from my shoulders, to my palms. Louisa added. “Girl, you got mated to a shitty piece of handsome dude. Most of the girls around the pack would kill to feel the mate bond.”
“Well I don't give a flip. He can have all the girls in the province. I. Don't. Care!”
Louisa let out a dry laugh. “Except that he wants you,” she pushed herself from the edge of the bed and spread her arms. “Get ready, you're spending Christmas in Oakville!”
