RYLAN'S POV
One hour of sprinting through the fields in my Lycan form. I shifted back into my human form, changed into a new pair of clothes Logan my personal assistant had brought for me and started making my way back to the pack house.
My wolf snarled. ‘What do you mean you're with her with no intention to consummate the bond?’
I zoned out of real life, and communicated with my Lycan through mindlink. ‘I know how much you crave her. We've been waiting for this our whole life. But we have a duty to the pack,’
His snarl rumbled beneath my core. ‘Pfft. I don't care what you or your old man thinks. I want my mate. And I'm going to get her,’
The vein at the side of my neck pumped with blood. This was something about a mate bond I didn't want to deal with. The attraction, the desires.
Gosh! My d**k getting rock hard at the mere sight of her. Don't get me started with how much her scent messes with my head. Too bad I was going to deal with this, for the whole of Christmas.
The sound of my phone vibrating through my pocket, forced out a litany of incoherent curse words from my lips. I pulled the phone out, and my lips thinned when I saw who the caller was.
I clicked on the accept button, and brought the phone to my ears. “Logan, I can hear you.”
“Your parents…” His voice trailed off, when I let out a low growl. “King and Queen Mildred Walton request your presence in the packhouse. They're about to leave for the Sapphire stone pack.”
I thought I made it clear to that man. “Logan, get my Audi ready. I'll be driving alone.”
“Rylan, the King specifically mentioned I'll be your chauffeur.”
“Make me repeat myself one more time, and you'll be stuck to a wheelchair the rest of your life.” I spat. I hated— Nah, I loathed to flex my power on my subordinates. But this kind of situation left me with exceptions.
He replied with a defeated sigh. “Very well then.” He responded, and I hung up.
By the time I took the elevator to the third floor, where my room was situated. The butler was rolling in a cart with my outfit. King Walton sure had his way around life.
I stepped into the bathroom, and for sine filthy reason. The face of one curly brown haired girl flitted into my mind, and I had a boner.
“f**k!” I groaned, as I helped myself come. Even if I wanted to, it was hard resisting Amara. She was poisonous honey to me. My God! I am going to enjoy every bit of breaking her, piece by piece.
Afterall she was destined to me by the moon goddess. And I'd be damned if I let her slip out of my hands. I cleaned out my spill, and had a quick shower.
My custom three piece suit from a designer brand, sourced by Logan, that bastard laid in one corner of the room. I slipped into it, and headed out.
My latest garage addition, the Audi RS7 was ready to hit the road by the time I got to the garage. Logan held the door open. I controlled the car with my smartphone, before I got in and pushed the start button.
The mechanical monster roared back to life with a reverting sound. Hockey was one of my major therapies. But cars…it was like a reward for major achievements.
After a snarky match with the Utica Comets. Our greatest opponent, fighting to be at the tip of the board. We were three minutes away from the final whistle, when one of the players committed a foul.
Three minutes. I didn't know it took three minutes for tables to turn around. I took the kick, and gave it my best shot with bated breath. I bet the universe was in my favor. Everything fell into place, and the puck slid straight in the net.
The one second of silence. The one second of uproar, before it gave way to the cheers. Yeah, that was my life and I lived for that.
Sapphire stone pack was an hours drive away from Oakville pack. Reason I opted for my twin turbo monster machine to do the job. With one hand on the steering, I tuned the stereo player and the sound of my favorite rapper serenaded the air.
I pressed harder on the gas, and wafted through the road like a f*****g turbo. After what seemed to be like forever, my neon headlight flashed against the signboard, ‘Welcome to Sapphire stone pack’
Oh here we go. Fifteen minutes of driving through the almost scanty road of the pack, flanked by tall trees, I arrived in front of an illuminating mansion. Memories of my time with Jaylin, sneaking in and out of the packhouse, basking in the euphoria of what I thought was love hit me like a ton of bricks.
I'd given that part of me to a she-wolf once. I wasn't going to make that grievous mistake the second time.
