I awoke to the sunlight pouring into my window, blinding me temporarily. With a groan I willed myself to turn over to my other side, checking the time. It was Seven O'clock in the morning. I'd have to be at the new school in an hour. Turning back over I stared up at my ceiling once again. It was becoming a insalubrious habit. Though I had tried, I couldn't stop my mind from wondering to my session the day prior. Dr. Gregory's alluring brown eyes were almost impossible to forget. His face though when I mentioned my father remained nonchalant.
"That's a pretty heavy accusation." He said while looking at me with a perfectly raised eyebrow.
"I'm aware." I replied quietly.
"But you have no tangible proof?" He asked.
I had swallowed heavily, closing my eyes for a split second. Taking in a few deep breaths to push down my anger.
"No sir, I don't." I said.
He looked at me once more.
"Let's talk about your relationship with your father."

I got up from my bed and heading for my closet, I grabbed the first dress I saw not really paying attention to what it was. I quickly undressed and then placed the pastel pink fabric over my head where it ended at my knees. I hastily put my hair in a slick ponytail and threw on some white flats before grabbing my bag and bracing myself to head down stairs.
When I got down there my parents were already in the kitchen. My mother—still in her night gown—was standing at the stove mixing some eggs in a pan, while my father was seated at the table with a cup of coffee in his hands and the newspaper in the other.
"Morning kitty." My father said still not taking his eyes off his reading material.
My mother glanced up for a quick second before diverting her attention back to the consumables in her pan. Quick hello's and shameful looks, my morning usual. With a sigh I sat at the table as far from my father as possible. Watching as my mother placed a plate of eggs and bacon in front of me. My stomach churned at the sight.
"I'm not really hungry." I said while pushing the plate an inch away from me.
"Eat." My father said putting his newspaper down and looking me right in the eyes. It was only a simple word but it was packed with so much sternness I couldn't help the shiver that went down my spine. I pulled the plate back and quickly disposed of it.
"I'm taking you to school today but after that your going to have to walk it, I have to be at work much earlier now." My father said not taking his eyes off his newspaper once again.
"Yes sir." Was all I could muster since the eggs in my stomach were making me feel queasy.
The car ride to the school was silent as usual. I avoided any eye contact with him while he spared me a glance every once in awhile. I almost didn't notice when he parked outside of the high school.
"Have a good day kiddo." He said while putting on his black shades and speeding off once I managed to exit the vehicle rather quickly. I stood in front of the building staring at it. Secretly hoping I would dissolve right there. Ridgewood High was a small school no more than one hundred students. Their academics were fair at best and I know it was known to have a lot of gang activity. I read up on it on the drive here.
With a sigh I made my way to the double glass doors shuffling my feet as I went, as soon as I walked in I felt as if everyone's eyes were on me. I immediately stared at my feet as I walked down the hall, turning completely red. Focusing on my steps and hoping I wouldn't faint.

Before I could catch myself, I tripped over my shoe and went spiraling into a nearby girl. We both tumbled down on to the dirty tile flooring.
"What the hell!?" The girl yelled. I had already started saying I'm sorry repeatedly.
"I'm so sor-" my sentence was cut short when I finally looked up and made eye contact with my victim and boy was she a sight to see.
Her light green eyes bore into mine, looking so much like my lost girl. Except this girl had black hair, long black hair that fell so nicely down her back and shined in the fluorescent lighting. Her skin tone was tan like she spent her days in the sun all day. Her eyelashes were long and curly and her jawline was sharper than any knife I've seen. She was very skinny and tall. Wearing a leather jacket and dark denim jeans, I even caught a glimpse of her black thigh high heels. I was mesmerized by her beauty. Staring uncaring at her. The noise of the school faded away and she was all I could see. She smelled of honey a smell I never knew could be so intoxicating to me but was certainly now. My heart began beating faster and my palms were sweating. My apology got stuck in my throat and I couldn't find it in me to swallow it down. I willed my brain to do its job and say something but I was stuck in my personal twilight zone starring at this beautiful stranger. I'm not sure how long I would have stayed like that and I didn't get the chance to find out because her vigorous voice invaded my ears pulling me back to reality.
"Get the f**k off me you weirdo!" She yelled once more. She had a heavy Spanish accent and that just seemed to make her more exotic in my eyes.
"Hello are you deaf?" She said snapping her long fingers in my face. I blinked a few times.
"I'm sorry!" I said while hastily getting up. I brushed off my dress and knees and then extended my hand to help her up. All she did was roll her eyes and get up without my help. My face turned red. "I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention to-"
"Where you were going? No shit." she said brushing off her shoulder and fixing her hair which wasn't even messed up to begin with.
"Sorry." I muttered once again, my face feeling hot. I could feel her eyes on me heavily. She was looking me up and down.
"Yeah well don't let it happen again or I won't be so nice next time." She said with a flip of her hair.
"That was nice?" I mumbled recalling all the curse words she yelled out. She obviously heard me because with a smirk she turned and walked away. I stared after wanting to talk to her more, my mind filled with curiosity.
Who was she?
I thought as I made my way to my first period mentally kicking myself for not asking her name.
I didn't see the foreign beauty again until third period. My first and second classes had gone by uneventful. I walked in and took my seat, not needing to give an introduction thank god. No one payed much attention to me except for a few inquisitive glances here and there. At lunch I wondered around aimlessly trying to convince myself that I wasn't looking for the tall girl in the leather jacket and failing horribly. I had almost convinced myself that I would never see her again and maybe I had even imagined her when I walked into history and saw her lounging at the back of the classroom, looking bored.
She looked so out of place in this classroom, I couldn't stop staring at her. She looked so confident and so uncaring. Almost alien. At that moment she turned her head and our eyes locked. I froze at the front of the class, trembling in my shoes and turning completely red. As if she knew the effect she was having on me, she c****d her head to the side and gave me a full tooth smile, white teeth and all. Her dimples showed and her eyes gave off a little glint.
I nearly pissed myself.
She laughed and then just turned away from me. I blinked as if I had just escaped from a spell.
"Please take your seats everyone!" The teacher yelled out obviously referring to me standing dumbfounded in the front of the room.
I hurried and sat in a seat making sure I was as far from the Spanish goddess as possible. And though I tried to listen to the words the obese woman in the front was teaching my eyes couldn't help but glance up at the strange girl every five minutes. She didn't notice anyway and if she did she didn't give me any indication.
"Your making it obvious you know?" A strange male voice whispered.
I turned to see a skinny young boy with black rimmed glasses over his sharp pointed nose. His hair was in dark curls sitting on top of his head and his eyes were a pretty light brown. He had hallow cheeks due to his scrawniness and a tall lanky body. His lips were full and pretty. I also couldn't help but glance at his captain America shirt. He seemed to barley be able to fit his tan khaki pants due to the fact that I could see his ankles, He was decent looking but nothing coming close to the girl With the leather jacket. I squinted my eyes at him.
"What's obvious?" I replied.
"Your creepy staring." He said plainly while pointing the tip of his pencil in the direction of hallway girl.
"I wasn't staring" I said quickly my cheeks heating up immediately, proving the words I just said were full of crap.
"You should stay away from her you know." Was all he said as he put his hand on his jaw to lean on it while looking at me with questioning eyes.
"Why?" I replied.
He opened his mouth to elaborate some more but was interrupted by the voice of a highly annoyed teacher.
"Well miss Jacobs I was going to be nice and spare you an introduction to the class but since my lesson seems to not be holding your interest, why don’t you come up here and tell us about yourself.” The blonde overweight teacher yelled out.
Every eye in the classroom immediately rested on me and my face grew hot like I stuck my face in a pot of boiling water. I looked back at the boy accusingly with panic in my eyes. All he did was mouth ‘sorry’ and ‘I’ll tell you later’ before he put his face into his text book.
“Well come on up.”the woman said impatient.
With a small shaky sigh I got up slowly brushing off imaginary crumbs from my dress and making my way to the front, taking the long way and avoiding eye contact with hallway girl. When I finally managed to make it and face the class I once again felt my bladder about to burst.
“Why don’t you start with telling us your name, where your from and why you moved here.” The teacher insisted while walking towards her desk to take a seat.
For a few more seconds I stared at everyone speechless then with a whisper I said;
“My name is Apryl Jacobs and-“ before I could finish hallway girl cut me off.
“I can’t hear you!” She yelled out with a smirk.
I nearly choked.
I cleared my throat and spoke a bit louder.
“My name is Apryl Jacobs and I’m from Show Low Arizona my family moved here for personal reasons.” I looked down at my feet to hide my embarrassment. Before anyone could say anything else the bell began to ring and students immediately filed out of their seats and out of the classroom. I hurriedly followed.
I made it about halfway down the hall before the boy from class came running up to me.
“Hey wait Apryl!” He yelled out while catching up and walking in stride with me. I gave him a glance before looking away.
“Are you still upset about class look I’m sorry but it wasn’t so bad, Worst case scenario is she could have eaten you.” He said.
I chuckled and he took that as a sign he was forgiven. Then all of a sudden he jumped in front of me holding his hand out to shake mine.
“Hello, my name is Tedwin or Teddy,” he said with a smile.
“Hi, I’m Apryl.” I said while gripping his soft slim big hand in my mine.
“Great now that introductions are over let’s get to the real tea.” He replied while resuming in his place beside me.
“And what may that be?” I said. His next words knocked the wind right out of me.
“Iris Santos”
