Madam Gabriela arrived in prompt time. They didn't have to wait long. She told them she made their servant go faster after he told her what was going on. She put her hand on Sheila's shoulder and whispered in her ear. She asked her if she had seen her Thomas lately.
Sheila was going to say no, but she knew better with madam Gabriela. Madam Gabriela was like a walking lie detector. Sheila nodded and led her into the parlor. Madam Gabriela smiled at her and giggled a little. She assured Sheila that she wouldn't say anything in the presence of the children or John.
They sat around the game table when they arrived in the parlor. John was in the head seat, Sheila was next to him and madam Gabriela sat across from both of them. Madam Gabriela instructed them to all join hands. Then, she began chanting; John looked confused. Sheila reassured him everything was okay.
There was a sudden gust of wind blowing through the room. It quickly blew out all the candles in the room; making it pitch black. Sheila could still hear madam Gabriela chanting, but couldn't feel her hand anymore. She realized she couldn't feel John's hand either. Sheila was bewildered about what was going on around her.
She suddenly felt a cold hand on her right shoulder. Too afraid to turn, she called out John's name with no response. She called out madam Gabriella's name; yet still no response. The thought of it being Thomas flashed in her mind; then she turned and saw him standing with his hand on her shoulder. She smiled, but he had a sullen look on his face.
Next thing she knew, he disappeared. She could suddenly feel madam Gabriela and John's hands holding hers again. The room lit up and madam Gabriela was laying head down on the table. Sheila shook her until she woke up. Madam Gabriela was exhausted; so Sheila told her to just stay the night.
John asked her what was really going on when she came back downstairs. She decided to be honest with him and told him everything. After she was finished, John sat quietly for a moment. From out of nowhere, he started roaring with laughter. He told her they were being ridiculous and nothing was wrong with him.
Sheila sat there in disbelief; thinking to herself, how could he not see something was wrong with him? She just couldn't believe it. Cameras were the new technology lately; Sheila decided to go buy one that day. If he wouldn't believe her, then she would buy one of those new cameras and hire someone to use it. At least this way she would have some proof of what everyone was seeing in John.
Madam Gabriela came down a hour later and joined them for breakfast. She kept giving John a strange look, but Sheila decided it was nothing and ignored it. John finished breakfast and told the two women that he was going off to collect from his tenants in town. Sheila kissed him on the cheek and wished him a good day. She followed him to the door, and waited until she couldn't see him on his horse anymore.
She locked the door and went into the kitchen. She sat down at the table and asked madam Gabriela if she was okay. Madam Gabriela said she was, but John was not. Sheila reluctantly asked her what she meant; not sure if she wanted to know. Madam Gabriela told her that John was not only possessed by the spirit of Thomas; but he was also becoming a werewolf due to the wolf bite he got on Halloween night.
At first, Sheila thought it was ridiculous. However, it dawned on her she had spoken of Thomas possessing John. Therefore, Sheila knew she could believe it. Yet, the whole werewolf thing didn't sit well with her. What if John lost control and killed her, she nervously asked madam Gabriela.
Madam Gabriela suggested maybe Thomas's spirit within him could control him. Sheila thought it definitely could be a possibility. Madam Gabriela informed her that was not a feat she could do. They would need help from a witch. Sheila didn't care much for witches herself, but she was willing to do whatever it took to get Thomas to permanently take over John.
While Sheila stayed home, madam Gabriela went into town to visit the local healer; she would know where to find a witch that practiced the old magick. Sheila was rather lonely with her children being in private school. Therefore waiting for madam Gabriela seemed a eternity. Thomas didn't come to visit her. She didn't expect him to considering he was inside John now; she was relieved when she saw madam Gabriela return.
There was a older woman in a long black cloak with madam Gabriela when she arrived. Sheila knew it only could be the witch madam Gabriela told her about. She hoped they could do what they needed to do quickly; the witch did make her nervous. They went into the parlor, where John was sitting in the rocking chair in front of the fireplace. Sheila introduced the witch to John and they all gathered around the game table once again.
Again, they joined hands and madam Gabriela began to chant. The witch joined her as she brewed something in a small cauldron over the fire. The smell was sweet, like a mixture of roses and lilies. She had never smelled that combination before; yet it was the sweetest smell she had ever smelled.
She thought maybe it was something from heaven. Suddenly there was a brisk gust of wind and the candles blew out. Bright light suddenly filled up the room and Sheila had to let go of John's and madam Gabriella's hands to Sheild her eyes. She heard madam Gabriela yell out to not let go, then utter silence. She looked in front of her and saw a figure coming towards her.
The closer the figure came, she began to realize it was John. Yet, he had blonde hair and blue eyes now. He originally had black hair and brown eyes. He seemed kinder in his stature; not so firm and stiff like he generally was. He put his hand forward to her; she knew it was Thomas right then.
She grabbed his hand and they both sat down on the antique couch in the parlor. The bright light disappeared and the candles relit. Sheila suddenly saw his face clearly when the fire in the fireplace got stoked up. It was Thomas before her, only in the flesh. She cried and Thomas wiped away her tear from her right eye.
He whispered he loved her, as he leaned in to her. She leaned into him and their lips joined together. With the warm, wet kiss he gave her; she reciprocated in the same fashion. For a moment she thought she felt a electric shock between them; but continued on with the kiss. This was a kiss she always desired and never wanted to stop.
They finally stopped kissing and realized everyone was watching them in adoration. Sheila blushed; she generally didn't participate in public affection. Thomas hugged her and said it was okay; everything would finally be okay. Sheila smiled, closed her eyes and leaned her head on his chest; finally she had Thomas the way she always wanted him, in the flesh.
They decided to finish up for the night. Thomas insisted they all stay the night; but the witch refused. She didn't want to burden them, she had said. Thomas insisted and she surrendered. Sheila didn't care as long as she had Thomas.
They got the witch and madam Gabriela settled in rooms of their own for the night. Sheila and Thomas happily retired to the guest house. It was going to be a beautiful night, Sheila thought.
