Chapter 21: The dream
A few weeks into the journey and they finally reached the state border. Their guide couldn't go any further; Sheila gave him his payment and he went on his way. They continued on until they came to a town called Scotts Bluff. There, they sold some gold pieces they had brought with them in case they would need money for the rest of their journey. Sheila got to see her first automobile. Being that she had spent the last two decades in the mountains; Sheila had never seen these "automobiles" the locals in Mt Shasta City would speak of. She had only heard of them. What she thought was amazing is how they cut travel time down drastically. What would have taken them a couple weeks to travel on horse and foot; took them only a couple days in a automobile. Besides the amazement of the automobile
