Chapter one

18 years later.

“Stop” the man said. I stopped dead in my tracks before I could place my hand on the huge brass gates in front of me as I turned frowning at him. “What is your business here” he asked. I gave him a pice of paper with the details I had received from the clinic. Strange. I thought they might have called to let my new employer know I was coming. “You are the new house maid for Lady Milla” he asked. I nodded “yes sir that is what the papers confirm, I was to start today no later than 9.30am”

“Right then, follow me I will take you to Gamma Nick.. he is Luna Ivy and Lady Millas protector and will confirm the details of where you start”

I nodded and followed him through the huge brass gates there was a pebble road leading to the mansion. The house looked like something of a fairy princess castle. It must have at least 20 or more rooms as we walked around to the huge double front doors there was another guard standing. “Gamma Nick, this is the new house maid for Lady Milla” he said.

Nick was a young tall larger man with broader shoulders around 26 years old, he had dark brown hair and dark eyes. He was wearing jeans, a dark long sleeve top with boots.

“Thank you John.” Nick said as he took the papers and looked at me.

John left us standing at the doors as he hurried back to the main entrance.

“Where are you from” Gamma Nick asked

“White Moon Pack” I answered.

“And your reason for leaving”

“I wanted to Study University. This was the only course that accepted me. And I had nothing left back in White Moon Pack. I need a new start” I answered. Slightly ashamed of my past but I needed something fresh. My cousin had old ties to the Golden Wolves and recommended me as a new hire.

As I was telling him this he nodded and said “My assistant Lilly has confirmed your story, do you need a more permeant place to stay ? We have beds here if you need”

“no thank you , I am already set up in a small apartment, 15 minutes away from here, but I will be needing time off during the week to go to my studies at University, and somewhere to park my car?”

Gamma Nick nodded and said “ yes that is all right , this is only a part time role, our main girl Laura has just had her first pup so she can only come in a few days a week. I will ask her to discuss when is best to swap around and she will confirm with Lilly. We have car parks around the back. Now that John knows who you are he will let you in when you arrive at the gates each morning”.

He opened the big arched doors as we walked inside. The main entrance was beautiful. Nothing I have ever seen before, the floors were white marble with silver and gold glittering through the tiles. The two tall curved windows next to the door had beautiful silk Red and gold curtains hanging from them. In the middle of the room was a massive stair case climbing to three stories of the castle. To the left a beautiful large corridor And another to the right of the staircase. I looked around the room in awe. I have never seen anything so beautiful.

As I was looking around a younger lady Not much older than myself walked from the right corridor.

“Great, right on time, Laura. This is your new help Layla Simmons”.
