Interrogation

1985 Words
Teela's POV I have heard of them myself. Yet, unlike the president, I know who I must speak with. "Thank you, Mr. President. We look forward to continuing our partnership. And remember you are being replaced in this election. Let your replacement know what is expected of the person who sits in that chair." I watched his face tense for only a second before he regained his composure. "Of course, I will ensure the next administration is well briefed. As always, it has been a pleasure. Have a safe journey." We all nod and stand, each shaking his hand. The Secret Service escorted us out and to the door. Once in the car, I pull out my phone and make a call. While it is ringing, I hear Sophia speak to Aria. "Keep your eyes open. The Silent Syndicate is a dangerous group." Aria nods and looks at me curiously. Wondering who it is I called. The phone connects, and I do not greet the person on the other end. "How did you handle your cousin, Rose?" When she answers me I can tell she is choosing her words carefully. "I took care of him. He won't be causing any more trouble," she pauses, then asks. "How was the meeting with the president? Anything I should know?" "The Silent Syndicate is back. What exactly did you do to silence your cousin?" I hear her sigh through the phone, "I eliminated him. Made sure he couldn't betray us again," her voice had an edge of darkness. Something not typical of her. "I have been monitoring their activities after I found out he was a part of it. They are getting bolder. We should probably discuss this further in person." "So is there a new head to the Syndicate?" I asked. "It would appear that way. My cousin wasn't smart enough to lead them. Someone else took over. They are much more calculating. But this really shouldn't be said over the phone. There are some details too delicate," she replied. "Very well," I say. "There is a pressing engagement that I need to attend to." Rose says goodbye and we hang up. I opened my contacts and sent a text to Jewel, 'Find out information on the possible death of Miguel Saint. Rose lied at the meeting about not taking him out. I need to know if he is indeed dead.' I hit send and looked at the ladies in the car with me. "We may need to call an emergency meeting of the court. I know we just had one yesterday. However, there are things going on that need to be addressed." They look at me with questions in their eyes, but I wave them off. "I want to talk to the filth from this morning before I think about it any further. Beat information out of him." A return text comes from Jewel. 'Found in the harbor. The family asked to keep it out of the papers. How do you wish to proceed?' I responded back, 'Let me think about it.' I put my phone away and leaned back against the seat. Was Rose finally getting that backbone she so desperately needed? Then that begs the question; why would she be willing to deceive the court? Those ar questions for the meeting. For now, I have some information to get. I pulled my phone out again and sent a quick text to Donna. 'If you are already there please tell me you didn't break him.' She responded, 'He's crying, but still hasn't talked. Should I wait?' 'Please, I think I know how to break him.' I send the text and then shut my phone off completely. When we arrive, we head inside and change our clothes. The other girls slide into plain black pants and shirts. I like to show a little more skin and the feeling of it running down my skin. I grab a black leather catsuit with holes at the sides and a deep plunging neckline. Walking into the room, we find Donna sitting on a chair in front of him. Her legs are swung over the arm, and she is kicking them like a little child. The man is hanging from chains, blood already running down the side of his face. I smiled wickedly. Oh yes, she did have a little fun. I like it. "Nice to see he is still in one piece." "Just barely," Donna smirks, standing up. "Had to do a little roughing up, but he has been tight-lipped so far. " She steps aside, giving me access to take over. "Let's play with him first," I say, a little too sweet for what I had planned. I walk to the table and grab the whip from the table. I walk over to the man slowly, making sure his eyes are on me. "Do you know who I am?" His eyes widen with horror, he knows. "N-no, please. I don't know anything," he stammers, sweat pouring down his face. I ran the handle of the whip down his face. When I got to his chin, I used the handle to force him to look at me. "Because, for not knowing anything, you showed up at the exact location I was meeting my people at. With the means to kill us. Care to explain?" He whimpers, his eyes locked on me, desperation etched into his features. "I swear, I don't know anything. I was hired for a job. Some guy approached me. Paid me good money, said to cause a distraction, nothing more!" His eyes were pleading. I ran the handle down his chest and stopped at the waist band of his pants. Both of our eyes flicker to the spot. When he looks back up at me, my eyes are cold. I pull the small blade out of my bra and carve a Q in his chest. His screams fill the space. "Not the answer I was looking for." The man thrashes against his bindings. "Okay, okay! I'll talk just please stop. It was a woman. She hired me." "Name!" I demand. He hesitates, wincing as pain radiates from the carved letter. "I, I don't know her name. She didn't give it, she was tall, blonde and had cold eyes. Please, that is all I know. I swear." My eyebrow shoots up, not Rose. But that description matches her cousin Gwendolyn. She has been trying to get onto the court ever since Rose joined. It does make sense that she would try to take me out. Rose killing her brother Miguel might also have a part in this. That is something to ask Rose though. "Interesting," I say, "But I think there is still more you are not telling me. Does anyone else want to have fun?" Donna steps forward with a glint in her eye. She grabs our favorite toy from the table and walks up to him. He looks even more afraid now. "May I suggest a truth serum?" I hear Sophia say from the back of the room. Donna and I turn to look at her, shaking our heads. "It's always the ones who don't like blood. We'll do that as a last resort. This seems to be working well. Now Donna sweetie, don't kill him." I see a pout form on her face, but she walks back to the table and grabs the needle nose pliers. Walking back to the man, she grabs a fingernail and rips it out. The room is filled with his screams again. I step forward, and we pass the pliers back and forth, ripping a nail out as we go. When we finish with the first hand, I grab his face, "What aren't you telling us?" "N-nothing, I told you everything already," he stammers out. "Perhaps the truth serum now?" Sophia says. "Fine," I say, stepping back. Sophia steps forward and sticks a needle in his neck. Hitting the plunger, we watch the serum as it is injected into his vein. We watch until we know the serum has taken effect. "Now," I say. "Tell us everything." "I was hired by a woman. Blonde, tall with cold eyes. She said her name was Gwen, Gwendolyn. She wanted all of you dead. Said you were a threat to her plans. I was paid to cause a distraction. She said it was a test." Those who have been on the court long enough know Gwen. Aria is new, so she wouldn't know the name. "What plans?" I demand. "She didn't say, just said you were in the way. Something about a takeover. She wanted to unite more factions, to gain more power. I know nothing else," he said evenly. "Did you hear any other names?" Sophia asks. "There was a Rosalind," he recalled. Not Rose, I said in my head, relief washing over me. But there was a Rosalyn in a family that had been trying to gain power. "Interesting, I think you are lying. You know more," I spat at him. "N-no, I told you everything," he stammers. "Talk, or we start carving," Donna shouts. The guy is so consumed by fear I'm surprised he hasn't peed his pants yet. "Alright, alright. There was a guy. Tall, dark hair with a strong build. He was discussing something with Gwendolyn. I didn't hear his name. But they were talking about a secret meeting." "Describe the man further," I barked. "He was intimidating, muscular, really built. Dark hair, short, kinda messy. His eyes were dark and cold, like he didn't care about anything," he says quickly. "Donna, I think he is lying still," I say, looking at her. Donna smiles and grabs the four fingers on his remaining hand, ripping the nails out, followed by the thumb. He screams, "Tell us everything about this man," she bellows. "I think he may have been her bodyguard, he was always close when she gave instructions," he choked out. "And?" I say coldly. "She called him, V-Victor. It was only said once but that is the name I remember," he said. Donna and I exchanged looks. I see the rage in her eyes. Victor is her younger brother. He was pissed that she became the head of the family instead of him after their brother died. If he is involved, Donna will kill him herself. "Spill it. You know more." "No, no, no, I told you everything," he screams. Donna grabs the ball crusher and puts one of his balls into it. Squeezing, there is a satisfying crushing sound throughout the room. "You have two seconds to spill in, or you won't be able to procreate," I say, coldly. "Gwendolyn is planning to unite the famines in a different way. Something that will hurt you all badly," he said quickly. I look over my shoulder. Good, Donna set the camera up. That means that at least Jade and Jewel are watching. When they are not here taking part in the fun, they keep track of it all from the computers. "Jade, how is his heart rate?" I call out. "His heart rate is elevated, but steady. He is under significant stress, but not yet experiencing extreme panic. But he is still holding something back," she replied, her voice coming from the speakers in the room. "You lied to us," I said to him. "Aria, sweetie. Come over here. Let's show him what happens when you lie to the court." Aria walks over and Donna shows her how to use the ball crusher. There is another satisfying crunching sound throughout the room. "Talk," I scream. "Gwendolyn's been meeting with other families. Trying to form alliances against you. Victor, he has been gathering information, trying to find weaknesses in your defenses. Please, that is all I know." "Jade, vitals?" I ask. His heart rate is still elevated, but I think that is all he knows," she replies.
