Chapter 26-Brother

Alpha Ace’s POV  

Umm, if you are headed back to Alpha Blake’s, you are going the wrong way. Alpha Blake’s is this way.

“Oh, haha, I know that.” She tries to play it cool with a fake laugh, which doesn’t go great because she stumbles over a pile of branches on the ground, not two steps after turning around.

Do you want me to carry you?

“No, I’m fine there is no need for that.”

Don’t be stupid. I’m not going to bite. Besides, I do not think my brother will want his mate walking around in the woods after you almost drowning.

She slows down but doesn’t say anything. I guess she did not know that I knew they were mates or that she almost drowned earlier. Either way, it works. I pick her petit body up in my arms, causing her to let out a small yelp. I guess I should have given her a better warning.

 At first, I don’t say anything for fear of her trying to protest and escape from my hold. When I finally feel her start to relax and nussle into my chest. I say, See, it is not that bad. I will not let anything happen to you. She lets out a very soft “Mhmm.” I smile instantly at how content she feels in my arms.

The further I walk, the more her scent is driving me wild. I stiffen at the thought of bringing her back to Blake’s pack. I do not want to leave her with him. These feelings I am having towards her are making me feel so uneasy. I can’t understand why I feel this way for a woman I know practically nothing about.

I want nothing more than to take her as my own. It is like she is calling out to me without saying a word. My wolf agrees he wants the same. I can’t help but stare into her beautiful brown eyes as they meet mine. My gaze moves from her eyes to her lushes pink lips. Just as they part, I crash my lips down on hers. I wanted so much more.

Claudette’s POV 

I adjust a little as I can feel him stiffen, and his pace starts to change. I look around to see if I can see anything that would cause him to have an uneasy feeling, but I’m distracted when I look past his sharp jawline to his dark, alluring eyes. He is staring right at me, watching my every move. I try to look away, but I can’t help it. He is holding my gaze in place. His eyes start to travel down from my eyes but stop when his gaze lands on my lips.

My breath is caught in my throat. My lips part slightly in anticipation of what is about to happen next. His lips crash into mine. I lean into his kiss and kiss him back. He is exploring my mouth with his tongue passionately.

Unfortunately, we are interrupted and have to cut our make out session short. When we hear Julie behind us. “C… Cla…Claudett…” He quickly pulls away from me. Leaving me unsatisfied and wanting more. He leans in close to her and growls out very aggressively, “NOT A WORD TO ANYONE.” 

I squirm in his arms as I try to get to my feet. With his reluctant help, he steadies me on my feet. I look him directly in the eyes and turn my passion into aggression as I speak harshly. WTF! Do not talk to her like that. She didn’t do anything wrong.

He looks so shocked by my sudden change in mood. “It’s fine, Claudette, really. Alpha Ace, you don’t have to worry. I will not say a word to anyone. I promise.”

I don't even give him time to respond. I grab her hand. Come on, Julie, you do not need to explain anything to him. Ace starts laughing. Haha, who is Julie? Her name is Julia!

 What no, it is not. Is it?

I stop in my place and look at the girl standing next to me. She looks so scared to get in the middle of our argument. “Ju… Julia is my name. I was going to correct you earlier, but you were so mad when you came downstairs. I thought it was a better idea to wait until later. I’m sorry. Are you mad at me?”

 No, I'm not mad. I chuckle, a little bit to help hide the embarrassment I'm feeling.  I start walking with Julia and Alpha Ace as she called him following close behind me.  

 How long till we are there? I ask both of them.

“Just up this rigid and through the tree line, and we are there. Do you want me to carry you closer?” Ace says. No, I think I can make it. I quickly say back at him.

The last thing I want is to have him carry me up to Blake's packhouse and have Blake see. I should have never have kissed him. I don’t know what came over me. I have so many questions I wonder if Julia knows more about him. I would typically ask him myself, but I do not want to ask in front of Julia. I guess I’ll just have to settle for asking Julia for now.

Alright, we are back! Thank you for the help, sir, but Julia and I should be going. Julia looks at me confused as to what I’m talking about but thankful she plays along. “Yes, your right. We need to get back.” She bows her head to the Alpha before turning to leave.

He just nods as we walk off.
