THE PARTY HAD BEEN simple, but more fun than Drake had in years. Little by little, the dragons filed out of his home and left an exhausted Miri and a clean porch behind. Layla wiped the frosting from her cheeks and hair before carrying her upstairs. Miri was neatly tucked into bed, her own bed finally. Drake was happy to have his massive bed back in his own possession because that meant Layla left behind the room downstairs to sleep in his bed. The sheets smelled like a mixture of them both and it made his beast grumble in arousal. He slipped up behind Layla as she was letting her hair down.
