Chapter Forty Two
We had not been on the road for long at all, and it had already been miserably lonely in here. I just really had no idea why everyone was choosing to just be so quiet and become strangers. I suppose these were the people that had the greatest work ethic. I mean, I was kind of surprised that Candace made it here, without any offense to her skills when it comes to doing her job of course, but I guess she must have appeared cold enough and like one heavy rule follower because I knew that only the best of the staff were being sent to the palace and I just had no idea how much longer I was going to be able to survive in the silence.
Silence was kind of maddening at this point because it made me too aware of so many things. It was almost like I could read everyone's emotions
