Chapter 3

Scott’s POV

We go back to the werewolf Kingdom Pack and walk into Kyle’s office. Everyone was sitting around waiting for us to arrive with the blueprints. When I say everyone, I mean everyone. There was little room left in the small office. “We have the blueprints for the facility”, Cornelius says, placing them down on the coffee table, and I took one of the spare seats at the side of the room.

“We have come up with a new plan” King Kyle says, pulling out his computer chair and sitting down. “We were thinking we could try a porthole, rather than a portal. At the very least, we can get some information.”

“Let’s work out what information we do have” I voiced and everyone turned to look at me. “King Kyle, you said you got a memory, what happened just after they were kidnapped?”

“I did” King Kyle answers and everyone turns their heads to look at him. “They had a collar placed around their necks. From what the memory reveals, it stops them from shifting when they get their wolf and producing magic. Since our trusty vampires, wolf and fairy here have seen them do magic, there must be certain types of magic they can’t do.”

“Joslyn was able to produce a portal and the girls are still there. I’m guessing that is one of the things they can’t do”, Queen Elizabeth stated, and I thought of Indy and how she swam in the lake with her pale blue tail.

“Indy can’t swim” I murmured as they all turned to face me again. “She would have been able to leave if she could swim. Indy can’t swim.”

“Why don’t they speak?” Ezekial asks as all eyes move to him. “Could this collar stop them from speaking? They get their wolves to speak for them.”

Alpha Lucas, Queen Elizabeth and Beta female Helen glance at each other. “We believe they may have been enchanted” Queen Elizabeth says as a few gasps were heard in the room. “It’s not the same enchantment placed on Lucas, Helen and I, it is the only thing that makes sense. They lost their voices and Julius got a new arm, since Lucas tore off the old one.”

“So, if I mate with Joslyn, will she get her voice back?” Cornelius asks, and I turn my focus back to Queen Elizabeth.

“I placed the mate bond into the three monkeys' enchantment to override it. If there isn’t anything in the incantation, it may not”, Horice tells everyone. Horice is Indyleigh’s great-grandfather and lives at the Lillivan Coven. We all know he was Prince Jeffrey of the witch kingdom before he abdicated. That is another story. “You can reverse it, if we can figure out the incantation she used.”

“That we can do” King Kyle says, and I breathed a sigh of relief. I’m assuming him or Queen Elizabeth will access their memories to get it. “Exactly” he says to me.

“What are we going to do to get them back?” I asked, glancing at all the faces in the room. It’s been 5 years and I want my mate back. We couldn’t figure out at the time why three young cousins were given mates at an early age. Gemma was 7 when Ezekial came into her life. Indyleigh was 5 when I found out she was my mate. I had just got Byron; my wolf. “Oh, you do remember me”, Byron laughs. And Joslyn was 6 when Cornelius came to talk to Kyle with his brother Oliver about Julius. That’s when he realized she was his mate; I continued my thought process, ignoring Byron. We started to piece everything together as time moved forward.

I had known Ezekial was close by when he was sent to watch us at the Silver Falls Pack, although I didn't know it was him causing me to search the wooded area near Chris' home. Ezekial told me he felt like he had to get to know me. I felt the same way, but didn't know why. Byron had no clue... "I couldn't smell him or see him; I just knew he was around." So, he keeps telling me. "And I will continue to tell you" he huffs, sitting down in my mind.

“Firstly, we need to work out if Julius decided to place a camera in the isolation pit. He kept telling me I should. I never bothered; why put something in there when you can’t see anything anyway,” Ezekial says, pulling me away from my thoughts as I roll my eyes.

“Infrared, you will still be able to see them” I commented, and he shook his head.

“Depends on who is in there. If it was a vampire, in most cases it was with insubordinate guards; infrared doesn’t work”, he explains. That makes sense. “If they have a camera, Cor will have to place a distortion on it.” Ezekial wasn’t happy when he first found out about the Fae magic being able to change the perception on a camera. He didn’t know Lidia had done that when Elizabeth made the portal to leave the facility. He finally pieced together what had happened.

“If they are in the isolation pit, it is a small, 1-metre by 1-metre square box” Enid says from the corner of the room. “There won’t be a lot of room to work with. It will already have 3 girls there. It will be hard to maneuver around if more go in. And when I say you can’t see anything; there are no lights and your werewolf's sight couldn’t see your hand if it bit you in the face.”

“We will need a flashlight, got it”, Beta Hunter says, stating the obvious. “Are you certain they are in the isolation pit?”

“No, it’s just a feeling I have” Ezekial says, and both Cornelius and I nod our heads. “It’s similar to the other feeling, but this time I can sense they are awake. You can feel it too, as though they are in complete darkness?”

I didn’t know what that feeling was. I’ve felt it on and off a few times over the years. I thought it was because Indyleigh was still out there. I felt like I was in complete darkness the moment she left. Come to think of it, it does feel different. “Yes, I wasn’t sure it was the mate bond or not”, I told him.

“Same goes for me” Cornelius states as Ezekial nods his head. “You were saying about doing a porthole rather than a portal. There are only two people who can open a portal underwater because we don’t know if Nick can do one yet. It would be the same with the porthole, I imagine. I have been thinking, Kyle; I know Jossy is your daughter, but can you open the porthole and stay here? Ezekial, Scott and I can place our hands through and grab the collars. The girls would want to feel us nearby. Once we have hold of them, we can attempt to break them whilst Elizabeth opens a portal, and we can get them out.”

“They will know the moment the portal opens” Alpha Lucas states as nods were seen around the room. We know Gypsy has placed some sort of barrier around wherever the girls are to alert them of magic being used; hence why they aren’t back with us yet. “If you have hold of the collar, they won’t be pulled out quickly. I suggest I go in and help from behind. With me in the way, they can’t be pulled out.”

“I’ll go too” Beta Hunter says as Lucas nods his head in agreement. “With the two of us, we can join hands…” “I’ll go, in dad’s place” Prince Nicholas says, standing up from his seat, interrupting the beta. “With the three of us, we can hold one girl while helping to destroy the collar. It would be easier to stop Julius from pulling them. From all accounts, his new arm is quite strong from what we have seen, and we don’t want to risk one of them being pulled through a portal.”

“That leaves Julius and Gypsy”, Former King Isaac states as murmurs and swearing were heard around the office. “Where do you think they are? Nathan, Cody and I can tackle where they are at the same time as you are getting the girls out.”

“I completely cleared the facility after I left. There’s nothing there, and I believe they will be in my office until they can get any items they need; hence why I think the girls were put in an isolation pit”, Ezekial states, and I suppress a growl. We need to get this show on the road. The girls have no food or water, and I’m not sure if Indy can get them.

“I know, Scott. We will get them out before starvation occurs” King Kyle states, giving me a half smile. “There is one more factor we need to consider; Gypsy. She isn’t going to go down without a fight. It’s a small enough area as it is and with more bodies in there, the more damage it can do. Liz is lethal when she gets pissed off. Princess, you may need help with whatever hexes she could send through.”

“I’ll go t…” “No, you haven’t learned how to deflect hexes” Alpha Lucas says, cutting off the Luna. “Helen or grandma can go.” Luna Bridget rolls her eyes at Alpha Lucas. Their eyes glaze over with their mind-linked argument.

“I’ll go help” Helen voiced as Beta Hunter lets off a low grumble. “What? You can go save our baby, but I can’t? I’ll be saving your ass too.”

“Things we have to look forward to, men,” Ezekial comments with a straight face to Cornelius and I. “If their daughters are half as feisty as their mothers we are in for a time of our lives.”

“She’s not 18 yet” Beta Hunter growls as Ezekial rolls his eyes at him.

“3 days” Ezekial snaps back. The two of them have been reliving the same argument since Ezekial found out he was mated to Gemma, or so I have been told.

“They have been”, Queen Elizabeth smiles and I turn to look at her. “You don’t have that problem, Indy is 18” she adds as Alpha Lucas lets off a low grumble of his own. “Shut it, she’s old enough to make her own decision on the matter” she concludes, and I let off a small smile. She’s right, Indy is old enough to choose what she wants to do.

Cornelius’ face drops as we were talking; “You only have 7 more months to wait, Cor” Princess Elizabeth says, giving him a smile. “And I can bet the castle Jossy won’t be letting you out of her sight for the next 7 months.”

It was King Kyle’s turn to let off a small growl as the rest of the room started to laugh. “We have a plan, let’s put this plan into action”, Luna Bridget stated as we all began to nod.
