The Rise of Ambition

Part 1 – A Seed in the Heart Days passed after the strange event when the Sceptre glowed in response to Kael. Life in Bercah returned to its normal rhythm, but inside the home of Xavi, things were no longer the same. Xavi had begun to think deeply about what he had witnessed. The Sceptre had responded to Kael in a way it never had to anyone else—not even to Xavi himself. That meant the magic of Casis was moving through the generations, growing stronger with time. But what troubled him most was not the magic. It was Arden. Xavi had noticed the look in his son’s eyes when the Sceptre glowed. It was not the simple curiosity of a child anymore. It was something else. Something darker. Ambition. One evening, as the sun sank behind the hills, Arden sat alone outside his house. His thoughts were restless. He stared at the distant mountains—the same mountains his father had crossed years ago to reach the Forest of Casis. “I am his son,” Arden muttered quietly. “The Sceptre should belong to me.” He clenched his fist. “But it responds to Kael.” The thought disturbed him deeply. Arden loved his son, but the idea that the magic might choose the boy instead of him filled his heart with unease. He remembered the stories about kings and power. In every story, the throne belonged to the strongest heir. And Arden believed he was stronger. Part 2 – The Secret of the Sceptre Late that night, while everyone slept, Arden quietly walked toward his father’s house. The moon hung high in the sky, casting silver light over the quiet streets of Bercah. No one saw him enter. Inside the house, everything was silent. Xavi and Annie were asleep in their room, and Kael was resting peacefully. Arden moved slowly through the dark hallway until he reached the wooden chest. The same chest that had held the Sceptre for years. He hesitated for a moment. Then he slowly opened it. The moment the lid lifted, a faint golden light filled the room. The Sceptre of Cansis Magic rested inside, shining softly as if it were alive. Arden picked it up carefully. At first nothing happened. But then the crystal at the top flickered. A faint humming sound filled the air. Arden smiled slightly. “So… you do respond.” He held the Sceptre tightly. “I am your rightful master.” For a moment, the crystal glowed brighter. But suddenly the light flickered violently. The rod began shaking in his hand. Arden felt a sharp burst of energy rush through his body. He gasped and dropped the Sceptre onto the floor. The glowing crystal dimmed again. Arden stared at it with shock. “What was that?” he whispered. The magic had rejected him. Not completely—but enough to warn him. He slowly picked up the rod again and placed it back into the chest. Then he closed the lid quietly. As he left the house, one thought filled his mind. “If the magic refuses me… I will find a way to control it.” Part 3 – The Dream of the King That same night, Xavi had a dream. But it was no ordinary dream. He stood once again inside the Forest of Casis, at the place where he had first found the Sceptre. But the forest looked different now. The trees glowed with ancient light. The ground shimmered with golden energy. Then the same powerful voice he had heard years ago echoed around him. “The king must return.” Xavi looked around. “Return where?” Suddenly the vision changed. Before him appeared the hidden valley he had seen when he first touched the Sceptre. The great city. The crystal towers. The throne of Casiscor. “Your kingdom awaits.” Xavi’s heart pounded. He had ignored these visions for many years. But now they were stronger than ever. “The bloodline grows.” “The heir approaches.” “Which heir?” Xavi asked. But the voice did not answer. Instead, the vision faded slowly. Xavi woke up suddenly in his bed. The room was dark and quiet. But one thing was certain in his mind now. The time had come. He could not ignore the call any longer. He had to return to the Forest of Casis. Part 4 – The Journey Begins Again The next morning, Xavi called Arden and Kael to speak with him. They sat together outside the house while the morning sun rose over Bercah. “I need to tell you something,” Xavi said calmly. Arden leaned forward slightly. “What is it, Father?” Xavi took a deep breath. “The Sceptre does not belong to this town.” “It belongs to a hidden kingdom called Casiscor.” Both Arden and Kael looked surprised. “A kingdom?” Kael asked. “Yes,” Xavi replied. “I saw it when I first claimed the Sceptre.” “And now… it is calling me back.” Arden’s eyes widened slightly. “A kingdom means a throne.” “Yes,” Xavi said quietly. “And that throne once belonged to the one who carries the Sceptre.” Arden’s heart began beating faster. “A king…” Xavi continued. “I must return to the Forest of Casis to discover the truth about this kingdom.” “And I will not go alone.” He looked at both of them. “You will come with me.” Kael’s face lit up with excitement. But Arden’s expression was different. Inside his heart, the fire of ambition burned even stronger. If there truly was a throne waiting in Casiscor… Then he would claim it. No matter what. Part 5 – The Guardians Watch Far away in the hidden city of Casiscor, the ancient guardians gathered once again around the glowing crystal table. The energy inside it grew stronger. “The king is returning,” one guardian said. Another studied the glowing images. “Yes… and he brings the two heirs.” The oldest guardian sighed deeply. “Then the prophecy cannot be avoided.” “What prophecy?” a younger guardian asked nervously. The old man looked at the glowing crystal carefully. “When the king returns with two heirs…” “One will rise with the light of Cansis.” “And the other…” “Will fall into the shadow of power.” The room fell silent. Because they all understood what that meant. A great conflict was coming. And the fate of Casiscor would soon depend on the last heir of Cansis Magic. .
