The night before, Maria walked in that cold night to her parents’ home. She walked with unsure steps, wondering if she would be accepted.
As she raised her hands to knock on the front door, the knob twisted and her mum stepped out.
She looked surprised! She obviously wasn't expecting her.
Hey mum Bella said, in humble whispers, and without a reply, she nodded, signaling her to come in.
The night was cold, and she watched her mum walk out with her Shaw.
Some minutes later she came back with a bag from a chemist's shop, a bag full of medicine.
What could have gone wrong Bella thought.
Who's all that for? Bella asked her mum.
You obviously have been gone for a while, she got a usual reply from her mom.
