Chapter Six

EVA I took the rag across the counter and turned to the sink. I had just finished cleaning the kitchen and now, I was going to make a fruit smoothie. Don't know what I'm putting in it just yet but it's going to be delicious. The sound of heels clicking in the direction of the kitchen, instantly caused me to roll my eyes. "Good morning, Eve. Is breakfast ready?" Mina's innocent like voice called out. Mina was the best hacker. That's exactly what we need for a time like this. Rick has suggested her for two reasons. She needed the job and she was the closest at being the best of the best. But her attitude sucked. She disapproves of Rick and I's relationship and she just nasty and disrespectful. But she gets her act together whenever Boss is in our presence. She knew not to cross the lines with him and she would get handle despite her blood relations. I sighed. "I'm the microwave." I sipped on my smoothie and stared out the window. I heard the microwave open and close and the sound of silverware clicking. "So, did you notice that the boss did not come home last night?" I did notice and no doubt I had a big guess where he was. "Yes." I answered simply, taking another sip. She hums. "Do you think he went to her?" I turned to look at her. "Not that's it's neither of our business but yes." She nods, stuffing a piece of bacon in her mouth. "I'm just curious. Why are they separated? From what I was told by Rick, I think she should be here with the baby. Cartron is out there and it's crazy how she refuses—" "Stop while you're ahead, Mina. What happens between the Boss and Queen is none of our business." I warned her. She rolled her eyes followed by a scoff. "I know that, Eve." She purposely miss said my name again. "It's Eva. Not Eve. And if you know then stop asking questions about them." Completely ignoring what I said, she waved me off. "I think he deserves better," she continued on and to her little awareness, she had no idea the boss had entered the kitchen. "I think she has no brain and she's being selfish." She says. I kept quiet and I looked behind her. The boss didn't look to happy with what Mina was spitting and I tried my best to keep my excitement down because I knew she was going to get it. "And what else do you think of her." His deep voice interrupted whatever she was going to say next. Her eyes went wide as he rounded to face her head on. Her eyes swept to me and I saw the little rage she wanted to give me but I smiled a small smile, hoping the boss did not catch me. "I-I meant...um..." she stuttered and when nothing else left her mouth she looked down at her fingers, embarrassed. Her skin flushing red. "Let me tell you something, Mina," The boss said, reaching out and gripping her chin. From what I could tell, his grip must hurt by the way she winced and instant pain conjured her face. "Like Eva said, it's none of your fvcking business on what happens between me and mine. So, stay the fvck out of it and worry about the task you're given. Understand?" His tone deep and warning. It was scary. She nods shakily but spoke up when his grip went tighter. "Yes, sir. I understand." She said in one rush. He let go and I could see his finger prints starting to become visible. He looked to me and gave me a stiff nod before walking out the kitchen. Mina rubbed at her bruising chin and turned to me, glaring at me. "Why did you say anything?" I shrugged. "Why should I. We're far from friends and my boss doesn't take kindly to those who disrespect him." She frowns. "I didn't disrespect him." I rolled my eyes. She talks about having a brain but I'm unsure. "Stupid girl. You disrespect the Queen, you're disrespecting the King aka the Boss. If I were you, I would keep my opinions to myself." I smirked and sipped on my smoothie, walking out the kitchen. That girl will not make it far if she didn't use her common sense around here. I had just walked outside for fresh air when my phone rang. I looked at the caller ID and I smiled. I answered and pressed the phone to my ear. "Good morning, amor." I spoke cheerfully. "Good morning to you, love." I hadn't heard from Rick in a few days and this is the first time I heard his voice since he left to go back to America. "Are you doing well? Staying safe?" I quieted while sitting down on the stone stairs of the porch. "I am. I have to so you won't kill me." He chuckles. My smile grew wider. "Right about that." "So, how are you?" I sighed. "You're cousin is a pain in the ass. She almost lost an important limb today." He exhaled a tiring breath. "Sounds like Mina. Is everything going well with the Queen and Boss?" "I don't know. I start my assignment today so, I will try to get some insight. I just really hope what's happening with them is temporary. He's falling apart if I'm honest and I know she is too." "They'll work it out. Kiss the little princess for me." He said. "I will. I can't wait to see her." When I first saw baby Cariana, I didn't get the chance to hold her. But what I saw was beautiful. She was a perfect mixture of the Boss and Queen. Small and beautiful. Our little princess. Rick and I continued our conversation about other things before he had to let me go and handle other responsibilities. I smiled down at my phone and sighed softly. I just couldn't wait for him to return. He's been gone for some days and I already miss him. UNKNOWN I walked past the reception desk, walking straight to the elevator. I pressed the up button and it took less than a moment before the doors opened. Making sure I was the only on on, I hit the numbered floor for the maternity floor and was on my way up. This man has been nothing but trouble and he needed to be rid of. No more waiting. He's working with the enemy and making sure he didn't cause more problems which was why I was here. The elevator dinged and opened. I walked out with my head down and looked for the room number. Once I found it, I took a brief look around and pushed open the door. Entering the room quickly, I closed the door behind me and switched the lock. As soon as I turned, a hard object connected with my face and I hit the wall. "Who the fvck are you?!" He growled out. Slight pain and a numb feeling did not stop me from turning around. When he saw who I was exactly, his eyes went wide. "H-How are you here? Where's your—" "It doesn't matter." I say, standing off the wall, ignoring the pain. He stood back in shock, lowering the unfamiliar pole in his hand and took a step back. Me on the other hand reached behind my pocket and rested my hand on the pocket knife. "Does Tiana know that you're here?" He murmured. "No, and she won't know either because you won't see." "What—" I cut his sentence short throwing a punch his way. The sound of bones cracking instantly filled my ears while I watched him stumble back on his hospital bed, holding his nose as it began to run red. "T-Tro—" "You've caused a lot of hêll in our lives. I'm just returning the favor." "Please, son—" He begged and it added to my anger. "I'm not your son. Everything you and that bîtch did to me and my sister will be payed for." Then he stared at me for a long while before bursting into a chuckle. "You found out." I grunt in response. This man has deceived Tiana and I but no more. He sighed. "I knew this would happen one day but before you kill me, know that you and your sister wouldn't be shît without me. You should be grateful—" "I don't care what will come out your mouth next. No more facade. Where are they?" He smirked. "Dead." I couldn't control what happened next. My anger got the best of me and I pulled the pocket knife out and switched the blade before shoving it into his neck. He grasped hold of my hand as he gurgled. In moments, I watched as he stared up at me with hard eyes then his grip went lip and the life in his eyes went out. His eyes remained opened and I snatched the blade out not giving a damn if blood drained everywhere. I stared at the man I thought was everything a father to me and Tiana but turns out, it was all a lie. All a lie and I just opened my eyes. It was time to open up Tiana's.          TWO HOURS LATER TIANA It was almost lunchtime when someone decided to knock at my door. I placed Cariana in her car seat. I walked to the door and looked through the peephole and my eyes went wide in shock when I saw who stood on the other side of the door. I unlocked the door and pulled it open. "Troy?" He had a hood on and his hand were in his pockets. And he didn't look to good. "W-What are you doing here?" I asked, my brows together. What was he doing here and how did he find me here? He sighed. "We need to talk and it can't wait, little sister." He went hesitant for a moment. "Mind joining me for lunch?" He questioned. I stared at him and I could tell whatever was bothering him was serious. I did not trust him just yet but I will have my trusty weapon with me at all times. "Give me a moment." I went to get Cariana situated and when I did, I couldn't help but notice how hard he was staring at Cariana. I saw the look of awe in his eyes as he watched me carry her out the living in the direction of my kitchen. I stopped at the door and stared at him. "We should stay inside. There's a lot going on and I don't want to leave out with her with me." He nods. "I understand." He walks in, closing and locking the door behind him. I lead him into the kitchen and he took a seat at the island. He took his jacket off and the sight of blood on the sleeves of his shirt caught my eye. "Troy, what happened?" He sighed. "Let's just say King will no longer be a problem in our lives." I frowned. "What did you do?" "I killed the deceiving bastard along with his bîtch." Instantly I knew he was talking about mom. But we already knew all this so what was he on about. "Deceiving? I'm pretty sure we knew—" "No, Tiana." He looked up at me. "What are you on about?" "Those people aren't our parents." ________________ Thoughts?
