Chapter 004: Don't Eat, It's Really Delicious

1060 Words
“Slurp!” Perhaps realizing how unladylike she was, Su Ya quickly sucked back her drool, looking unexpectedly adorable. Su Ya was so cute; every gesture was playful and charming, like… her incredibly long legs, easily a meter in length, were completely exposed without stockings. Her legs, folded beneath her as she sat, caused her skirt to ride up slightly, revealing those smooth, straight legs before my eyes. Truly enviable… Wow, this woman was born to be a star! Staring at the scene, I blurted out, "Fake… fake! I'll… I'll change my condition!" Su Ya subconsciously looked up at me, her large eyes glistening, her small mouth pouting as her expression turned incredibly sad. It looked like she was about to cry again… Fine, you win! I immediately stood up, looking at her with admiration, and declared with utmost sincerity, "Real! More real than a pearl!" I practically pointed at her and announced, "And the award for Best Actress goes to…" Forget it, next time. If it's really just the two of us on this island, there'll be other chances to make requests. She'll need to eat again. Thinking of this, my eyes gleamed with a particular light. Wait, what's that smell? Suddenly, I caught a whiff of something burning. Huh? Following the scent, I turned to see the crab meat practically glued to the rock and charred black!!! I rushed over, kicking some of the wood out of the fire to reduce the flames. Grabbing a thin stick in each hand, I started rotating the crab, like a street vendor grilling kebabs, turning it left, then right, with a practiced hand that was painful to watch. Not the motion itself, but the sight of the blackened crab meat, bits of charred flesh stuck to the rock. My face darkened along with the crab. “Psnort!” Su Ya watched me frantically trying to salvage the situation, my face covered in soot. Despite covering her small mouth, she couldn't help but giggle. “You…” Hearing Su Ya's laughter, I turned, ready to snap at her, but the sight of her laughing so freely, beautiful as a sprite, made me swallow my words. Ahem, beautiful girls truly are a gift from heaven. There's a saying, something about surrendering mountains and rivers for your joy, exhausting the world for a single smile. I suddenly understood it a little better. Just two burnt crabs for her happiness… worth it. Besides, the burnt crabs were for her anyway. Her smile reminded me of my sister-in-law. Her smile was also beautiful, but their smiles were vastly different. Impossible to compare. They were both human, but of different categories. One like a proud celestial being, her smile captivating; the other like a gentle angel, her smile tender. Each had their own unique charm. As for my sister-in-law, I still held great hope for her survival. We were sitting together; she must have survived too. Perhaps the waves swept her to another part of the island. But with the unstable food and water situation, I had no time to search for her. Without finding substantial resources, the constant, overwhelming sense of crisis made me unsure if I would even last until tomorrow. The image of Su Ya, staring at me with wide, innocent eyes, her small hand waving in front of my face, surfaced in my mind. Yes, she was also one of my concerns. I had to protect her. Though she had been arrogant and dismissive before, seeing her smile now, I knew she was no longer the radiant star with countless fans, but just a scared, ordinary girl who wanted to survive… Heh… My sister-in-law was also an ordinary woman. It was a pity I couldn't cross mountains and seas to find her now. I could only pray silently. The helplessness and worry were etched on my face, imprinted on my heart. Lost in thought, I noticed Su Ya looking at me strangely. *Eh, what's he doing? What's he thinking about?* *That hateful, heartless guy… can actually look so melancholic?* Seeing me still lost in thought, ignoring her, Su Ya lowered her hand and began studying my expression. "What are you doing!" I exclaimed, startled as Su Ya's face came close to mine. Looking into her large, innocent eyes, I stumbled back, feigning fear. "You jerk! What are *you* doing!" Su Ya, startled by my outburst and my feigned fear, retorted, both embarrassed and angry. *I can't believe… I was so close to him, staring at his face?* *But… he is quite handsome. My type…* *Oh my, what's wrong with me? Am I crazy…* A blush crept up Su Ya's beautiful face. "You were the one so close to me! What were *you* doing? I'm telling you, don't even think about taking advantage of me. If you do, I will definitely… accept!" I teased, watching Su Ya stamp her foot in frustration, my heart bursting with laughter. My worries had vanished. There was no use dwelling on them. Better to tease Su Ya for now. "I'm ignoring you! I'm hungry! Cook the crabs!" Su Ya gave me a playful punch and walked away towards the edge of the beach, staring blankly at the vast ocean. On the other side of this ocean, she was a celebrated star. She never imagined she would have to resort to fake crying for a meal… *I want to go home!* Su Ya felt like crying again. … I placed two more crabs on the flat rock. After a while, under the careful manipulation of my sticks, the white crab meat slowly turned a golden brown. Despite the lack of seasoning, the natural aroma of the roasting meat was enticing. After all the commotion with Su Ya, we were both starving, our mouths watering. In the end, I ate the burnt crabs myself. Su Ya returned with a melancholic expression and tear streaks on her face. The crab meat was slightly hot as I bit into it. The texture was just right, neither too tough nor too soft, perfectly to my liking. The burnt parts tasted like charcoal, but with the scarcity of food, I forced it down. Su Ya, however, devoured her portion, completely devoid of her usual star-like demeanor. Like a starving ghost, she ate with gusto, her mouth glistening with oil, happily humming, "Delicious! So delicious!"
