She knew that she cannot cheat death, but she wanted to live. More than anything she had ever desired in her life. She wanted to take revenge for what they had done to family and friends and what they would do to other innocents. Despite this, a part of her was happy that the kid who was hiding few yards away, so skillfully that only she could see, was safe. Younger than her twenty years of life, smarter than anyone she had met. Her eyes gave a message to the young one: to avenge her, their family and friends. The kid's eyes were pleading, but there was a fire in the eyes that said yes. That answer gave her the happiness that no one could have ever given her at that moment. She knew the kid would do the job for her. Taking a deep breath and stilling courage in her fluttering heart, she knelt in the puddle of rainwater. A smile of pure happiness broke across her face when a cold arrow, from her back, pierced her heart.
