He didn't stop. Every day he was there outside my building, and when I refused to get in his car, he simply followed at a distance, trailing me all the way to the subway station. At least he didn't know where I lived. Adrian saw how relentless it was getting and offered to pose as my boyfriend to drive him off. I said no. I wasn't going to drag a friend into this, or turn anyone into a prop. A week later, an unknown number called. It was Ryan, telling me Nathaniel had been in a serious accident and asking me to come. I said no. We were divorced. There was nothing more to untangle. I blocked Ryan's number and threw myself into work. Whether the accident was real or not, Nathaniel disappeared from outside my building for the better part of two weeks. By the time early summer came around
