Luna of Lunar Pack

(Mari POV)      I couldn’t wait to finally be home. I wanted to show Aria everything. I couldn’t wait for my pack to meet her. We were in the back of the car, being driven home. I could hear Simon and Anthony chatting in the front seat, but I didn’t really care. They were strategizing about the pack that was mistreating it’s people in the South. Jax had found them and had immediately reported them. When Aria was safe on my land, then I would worry about how I could help. The little blond woman leaning on me was my priority.       She looked so peaceful sleeping. I wondered if she felt as at ease as I did. I wondered at how she fit against me like a puzzle piece, how soft her hair was, how good she smelled, and every detail I could take in. Every time I touched her, the mate bond zinged across my skin. Kya was just as enamored with her as I was.        She’s so tiny. Kya marveled. I agree internally.       We’ll have to make sure she’s safe. I can’t lose her.  I sighed.       Yes, but the Goddess wouldn’t give us a mate we couldn’t keep safe. Kya pointed out.       Yeah, I guess.       “Oh, hi.” Aria’s soft voice pulled me away from my wolf. I smiled at her. She smiled back, her eyes lighting up.       “Hello, little one.” I kissed her forehead and held her close. She giggled.       “How far away are we?” Aria asked, looking out of the windows.       “You’ve been asleep for about five hours. We aren’t more than a half hour away now.” I replied. Her eyes widened.       “Really? I slept that long? I didn’t wake up?” Aria looked genuinely confused.       “You looked so peaceful; I didn’t want to disturb you.” I admitted.       “Alpha, Luna- We have arrived at the edge of the property.” Simon interrupted. Aria looked back outside eagerly. The thick woods that surrounded my territory didn’t give her much to look at at first. After about twenty minutes, the first of the pack houses appeared.        Our farmlands, the housing developments, the little shops, and more popped up. Aria’s eyes were wide and took it all in as quickly as she could. My pack was one of the biggest in Shifter Country, but  I knew it was similar to EastEnd. I held her hand as she continued to take everything in. We pulled up to the pack-house where most of my pack members were waiting.       “Welcome home, Luna Aria.” Anthony grinned at Aria. Aria’s eyes were round with excitement and a little bit of fear. I kissed her temple.       “They will love you, little one.” I promised. She took a deep breath and got out of the car. Warriors scrambled everywhere to make sure Aria had what she needed. They grabbed her bags, closed her door, and offered to lead her in. I firmly took over by grabbing my mate’s hand. Leave it to this tiny woman to turn my perfectly trained warriors to bumbling buffoons. I stopped in front of the door to the pack-house. At least 100 or so pack members had gathered.       “When we have time, be sure to welcome your new Luna to Lunar Pack. I am happy to report that the Goddess has blessed me with a Fated Mate.” I announced. They burst into cheers. A few of them opened their mind-links to me so that I could feel their joy and relief. I knew that a few of them had worried about me being alone. I loved that not a single one of them questioned me. They were happy I was happy.       “There has been a breach in the South. Warrior Team B, please report to Gamma Anthony and he will tell you what to do next. We will be supporting Alpha Jax and the council as they bring this pack to justice. Now, excuse me, but I have a mate to spend time with.” I grinned. Aria blushed a deep red as a couple of the warriors wolf-whistled.       I hooked her with one arm and scooped her close so I could let out a low growl against her neck. Her whole body trembled.      “They can look all they want, but you’re mine, little one.” I nipped at her neck. She squeaked in surprise. I grinned as the soft scent of her arousal reached my nose. Oh, the fun we could have.      “Enough distracting me. Come in. This is your basic pack house structure. It’s not complicated at all. It’s very similar to the house you ran.” I lead her through the downstairs. I was impressed; my house staff had spruced the decorations up. We went into the kitchen and Aria grinned.      “Oh! The kitchen is beautiful!” She exclaimed, gently touching all of the equipment my head of house had begged me for. I smiled. At least the insane amount of money I spent on this kitchen would please more than my head of house. I would do anything to please my mate, but it made me happy to see that she was easily pleased so far.       “Alpha Marigold, you keep your hands out of that keeper!” I froze as the voice of my head of house caught me opening the bread keeper she kept the most delicious cookies in.       “I was simply getting a cookie for my mate, Hannah.” I defended myself poorly. Hannah rolled her eyes, shooed my hands, and used tongs to pull out two cookies herself. She gave one to each of us. Aria took the cookie in both hands and smelled it deeply. The way she licked her lips made my heart stop a moment. Hannah laughed. Aria looked up, confused.     “Did I do something wrong?” She wondered.       “No, but I do think that our Alpha is looking at you the same way you are looking at that cookie.” Hannah laughed. “Welcome, home, Luna. I am Hannah, the Head of House here. If I’m not mistaken, you were the Head of House at EastEnd. I’d love to go over everything with you once you are settled so everything is to your liking.” Hannah smiled at my little mate. Aria grinned.       “I’d love that.” She admitted. She took a bit of her cookie and held back a groan. That was it. I couldn’t take it anymore. I needed her to myself. We needed to be alone. Now. I grabbed her hand.       “Say goodbye, Aria.” I ordered. Aria grinned.       “Bye, guys!” She called out as I grabbed her hand and pulled her up the stairs to our suite on the third floor.
