An hour later, they were ready. Mia’s dark hair was straight and in a ponytail to show off her face and she’d chosen a pale pink floaty dress. Kylie’s blonde hair was curly and she wore a tight bright green dress. Walshy wolf whistled as he saw them both. His eyes lingered on Kylie as he handed them both a shot of spiced rum, which they necked.
“Everyone’s waiting downstairs, let’s go.” He said when they had finished.
They took the lift down to the hotel lobby.
“Hey girls! You look fabulous!” Cole called, when he saw them. He was standing with Jimmy, and the Walsh’s other brother, Ben. He was smaller and younger than the other two. Jimmy caught Kylie’s eye and smiled.
“How’s your head after last night?” He asked, as the group walked outside together to the limo.
“Fine, just can’t remember much.” Kylie laughed.
“Girl, I wish I’d of been on your level.” Ben said.
“There’s always tonight!” Kylie replied.
The limousine driver opened the door for them. The music and disco lights were on, the purple and black interior was glittering, and the mini bar was freshly stocked. They climbed into the limo and started drinking.
By the time the got to the club, everyone was starting to feel pretty drunk. Walshy had been bragging to his brothers about the girl from last night and Kylie and Mia couldn’t wait to get away from him. They got out of the limo and strolled up to the entrance desk at the club.
“Hi,” Mia said to the guy behind the desk.
“Names and business?” He said.
“Mia Littleton, Kylie Bentley, from Fusion.” Mia said.
“I’ve got a Mia Littleton but not a Kylie Bentley,” the guy replied, looking on his computer.
“That’s because her names Kylie Walsh,” Walshy had appeared behind them, smirking. Kylie threw him a dirty look.
“Ah yes, Kylie Walsh.” The guy behind the desk said. He gave Mia and Kylie some VIP wristbands to put on. “And your names?” The guy asked Walshy.
“Neil Walsh, Jimmy Walsh, Ben Walsh and Cole Kingsley.” Walshy replied.
“Yep, that’s all good.” The guy passed over 4 more wristbands. “You can go in, it’s a free bar, entertainment starts in an hour.”
The group headed through the next doors and into the club. It was full of people already, all stood around with drinks chatting.
“Hey, Walshy!” A familiar voice called out. Walshy went over to greet the man. Kylie turned around to see James Ford, the man from last night. He was smiling and shaking hands with Walshy. How do they know each other? Kylie wondered. James Ford had spotted the other Walsh brothers and was heading over to greet them too when he noticed Kylie. He shook hands with Jimmy but his eyes flickered back to Kylie and she felt butterflies fluttering around inside her.
“This is my wife, Kylie,” Walshy said, pulling her over to James Ford, who raised his eyebrows.
“Ex wife.” Kylie replied, smiling sarcastically.
“Still technically married.” Walshy said, smirking.
Kylie felt a rush of anger. What was Walshy playing at? “Not for much longer.” She said firmly. She glanced at James who seemed amused, then looked around for Mia. “Drink?”
“Definitely!” Mia replied.
Kylie turned back to Walshy. “Remember what I said before about not getting in my way?” She said quietly, glaring at him. Then she turned and grabbed Mia’s arm and they headed off to find the bar, leaving the boys and their awkward situation behind.
