We pulled up to a ranch-style house with a wrap-around porch. There is a two-car garage, a four-stall barn, an indoor and outdoor arena. My horse's stood at the gate waiting for me to get home. Once they saw the truck, they started to pace the fenceline. I parked the truck in front of the house and hopped out. Dean followed me but staying a few steps behind me, just watching. We stop just on the other side of the fence.
"Who are they?" Dean asked, standing behind me.
"The black one is midnight and the caramel-colored one with a blaze on its face is pendleton. They are my barrel horses." I look at them lovingly.
"Can I touch them? I've never touched a horse before." He looked hesitant.
"Sure, just let them smell you first. Really? You live in Montana." I chuckled at him.
He slowly raises his hand and lets midnight smell him. She flares her nostrils and then wraps her head around him and pulls him to her. He freezes but then slowly reaches up to pet her, then smiles at her. Then Pendleton walks over and rubs his head on his back. He looks like a little kid on Christmas that just got his favorite present.
"Wow, they never do that to anybody but me or my parents. She must really like you."
"At least I have your horses' permission." He laughs out. I frowned but brushed it off.
"Alright, let's go inside so I can tell my mom that we are leaving." I pat both horses and give them a sugar cube. I walk towards the house and Dean follows right behind me.
"Hey mom!" I said as I walked into the house.
She is sitting at the kitchen table with her computer typing away. I am the spitting image of her, except for my eyes and height. She is about five-eight with baby blue eyes. But other than that, we are basically the same person.
"Hello dear, how was-" She stopped when she looked up and saw Dean behind me. She furrowed her brows a bit before continuing. "-your day at school and who is this young man?"
"Mom, this is Dean. Dean, this is my mom, Liz. He showed me around the school today and helped me with some of my classes. He's been really nice." I beamed at her.
"Hello Mrs. Kursed, it's a pleasure to meet you." He held out his hand for her to shake. She took it and when they made contact both their eyes widened. They both recovered just as fast as they showed it.
"I see Mr...?" She questioned him.
"Rich. Dean Rich ma'am." She nodded and looked at me.
"So mom, I was hoping I could go out with Dean, his brother and his girlfriend? We won't be out long, just a few hours." I pleaded.
"Sure sweetie, that's fine. Just be back by eight please. Me and your father need to tell you something important." She looked between me and Dean.
"Yes ma'am, we will be back before then." He smiled.
"Okay, have fun but I will be watching you two." She smirked.
"Okay, mom. I love you!" I gave her a quick hug and we went out the door.
We hopped in my truck and started driving towards the mall. We were just listening to the radio and then I noticed Dean starting to fidget. It looked like he was uncomfortable. It was silent at first, but then Dean started to speak.
"Your mom seemed nice. Do you think she liked me?" He seemed worried.
"Um... She's pretty hard to read, but that's just because she's overprotective since..." I trail off looking ahead.
"Why would she be overprotective of you? You don't seem like the type to be a bad girl." He questioned while chuckling.
I sighed as we pulled into the mall parking lot. I parked the truck and shut it off. It wasn't that I was ashamed of what happened to me, it's just that I don't want people at this school making fun of me. So I grip the steering wheel and mumble it out.
"Almost 3 years ago I was r****d by my boyfriend... Please don't tell anyone." I pleaded at him with tears in my eyes. I heard a growl and looked up at him and frowned. Why would he be so mad?
"I would never tell anyone, that's not my story to tell. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to worry you, it just makes me mad that I couldn't have helped you back then." He glares out the window for a few minutes.
Then he gets out and walks to my side of the truck. He opens my door and stands there staring at me and furrowing my brows looking at him. Then he just leans in and hugs my waist while resting his head on my chest. I felt the spark engulf me, I could get used to that feeling. I slowly reached down to rub his back, unsure of what else to do.
"I'm so sorry that happened to you. I don't normally show my emotions, but with you I can't help it. Just know as long as I'm around nothing bad will ever happen to you if I can help it." He says, looking up at me.
"Thank you, that really means a lot." I blushed and looked down. I felt his fingers and sparks on my chin lifting it up, so I had to look at him.
"Don't ever be embarrassed when you are with me Amore. I will never judge you. Thank you for sharing that with me." He smiled and lifted me down so that I was standing next to him on the ground. I just smiled up at him.
He took my hand and we started walking hand in hand. Normally, I wouldn't be doing this so soon but I felt so comfortable with him. Like I was supposed to be right next to him, like I had known him my whole life. I felt his hand wrap around my waist and pull me through the doors to the mall. Then he went back to holding my hand. I heard a screech and I looked up and saw Sammie running towards us with the biggest grin ever.
"See, I told you that it wouldn't take very long!" She grinned back at Nick.
"What?" I asked curiously.
"Aren't the two of you dating now?" She tilted her head to the side.
"Um... No, I just wanted to make sure she got in here safe is all." Dean muttered, taking his hand away from mine and shoved it in his pocket.
My hand felt cold and I knew I shouldn't have thought too much about it. I knew he didn't like me back. Why would someone like him like someone like me? I'm nothing special, I'm a nobody. He could easily have any girl he wanted. I was most likely just his flavor of the week. I felt Sammie grab my arm and start dragging me.
"Alright! The first stop is Victoria's Secret!" She grinned.
"Yay!" I grinned. I would not let Dean ruin my night with my new friends.
I heard the guys groan but they followed us anyway. Sammie grinned and dragged me into the store and started grabbing a little bit of everything. Then she looked at me because I wasn't grabbing anything.
"Aren't you gonna grab some stuff?" She frowned.
"Um... Well, I don't actually know what I want. I've never been here before." I blushed and looked away.
"Oh yay! Even more fun! My own personal doll." She twirled me around and then started grabbing stuff and putting it in a different bag for me. Once she was done, we went to the changing room and we shared one.
"Try these ones on and show me so I can see! They will be so hot on you!" She grinned.
"Oh okay..." I looked down at my body and compared it to hers.
"Don't you dare, ma'am. I can feel you staring at me. You are just as beautiful as any other girl out there. Just because you think you have a few extra pounds on you doesn't mean anything. I think you are more beautiful than me. I wish I had your curves." She smiled at me genuinely.
"Okay..." I started to change and she was right. I do look really good in these. One was black and light pink lace. Another one was a nude lace set. The last one was a turquoise set. All of them were push-up bras and cheekies.
"Damn girl! You look so fine!" She grinned from ear to ear. I blushed. "Alright, let's go!" She went back and grabbed me 3 more sets. One in pink, one in purple and one in light blue.
We went to the cashier and paid for all our clothes. She got way more than I did. She got nightwear for Nick and quite a few new sets too. She wouldn't let me pay for them and I felt guilty because it was over six-hundred dollars. She said it was a welcome to the new school gift. We walked out to meet the boys and they took our bags out to the truck and car. We went to American Eagle and waited for the boys to get back. Once they were back, we went inside. Sammie and Nick went to the Jeans, me and Dean went to the tops.
"Did you find everything you wanted at Victoria's Seceret?" He said while looking around.
"Um... Yes. Sammie was really helpful. But she wouldn't let me pay for my own stuff." I smiled.
"Good, I'm glad she listened for once." He smiled, looking me up and down.
"What do you mean?" I frowned.
"I made her buy the clothes for you with my card because I didn't want you to worry about the price tag." He shrugged his shoulders as if it was not a big deal.
"You-you bought those clothes?" I paled.
"Yeah?"
"My clothes were over six-hundred dollars... I will pay you back!"
"No you will not. I do not want your money. I did it as a gift Amore." He smiled and stepped closer to me and I took a step back. We did this until I bumped into the wall behind me. "You could repay me in other ways though." He smirked looking me up and down. His eyes darkened with lust.
"But you said we are not dating... I shouldn't accept that type of gift from someone that I'm not even dating." I started to breathe heavier and he smirked.
"Do you want to be dating me Amore?"
"I-I um..." I stuttered, looking at his plump lips.
"We can do whatever you want, Amore." He leans in closer to where his lips are just an inch away from mine. He rested his arm next to my head, holding him in one spot.
"Do-do you want to date me?" I whispered out.
"I want to do more than date you, Amore. But I will settle for dating you if that's what you want," he said in a husky voice, looking at my lips.
"O-Okay..."
"I need words, Amore," he said sternly.
"Yes."
"Yes to what?" He commanded.
"Yes, I want to date you, Dean." I whispered, looking him in the eyes.
"Good. Then you are now my girlfriend and I am your boyfriend." His eyes darkened to an even dark blue and he leaned forward the last inch and placed his lips on mine.
If I thought the sparks before were good, they were amazing now! They went from my lips all the way down to my core. I squeezed my legs together and wrapped my arms around his neck. He wrapped his arm around my waist and squeezed me. Then I heard him growl in the back of his throat and it made me weak in the knees. He groaned and picked me up, wrapping my legs around his waist. I then felt a buldge. I stopped kissing him once I realized what was happening. I then pushed him and he set me back on the ground.
"I-I... We-We can't do that again... I don't even know you..." I mumbled out, glancing up at him.
"That's fine, I'm sorry. I have just been wanting to kiss you all day. I will take this at your pace. You can ask me any question and I will always be honest with you." He said, kissing my forehead, leaving that spot filled with sparks.
"Thank you," I smiled up at him. "are you ready to go? It's getting close to eight and I have to be home by eight."
"Sure, let's go find my brother and Sammie." He took my hand and we began walking.
"Dean?"
"Yes, Amore?"
"Why did you take your hand out of mine when Sammie asked if we were together?" I said in a saddened tone.
"I said I would be honest, right? So don't get mad at me..." I nodded and he continued. "All throughout high school and my last 3 years of college I have been a player. A new girl almost every week. I kept that secret so that no one would know about that part of me. So it's out of instinct I guess. If I do that again, just tighten your hold on my hand. I want to show the world that you belong to me, but I just don't know how."
"Do I need to worry about that side of you?"
"No, the minute I saw you I only wanted you." He said, rubbing his thumb across my cheek, and I found myself leaning into it smiling.
"Hey you two! Are you ready?" Sammie yelled.
"Yes, we are ready." I smiled.
We all walked out to our vehicles and Dean walked over to a nineteen-sixty-eight mustang fastback. It was candy apple red with two white racing stripes going down the hood to the roof to the back of the car. It was my turn to gawk at his car. I wanted one of these so badly but they were just too expensive.
"Do you like what you see Amore?" He smirked.
"Yes! It is beautiful! Will you take me for a ride in it sometime?" I grinned up at him.
"Of course, just name a day and I'll make it happen." He smiled.
"Alright you two, let's get Mia back before she is late. I want to be able to hangout with her again" Sammie whined.
"Is it okay if I rode back with you and they would follow us in my car?" Dean asked me hopefully.
"Sure, that's fine." We jumped in my truck and drove off with Nick and Sammie following us. The ride back was silent but it was comforting. He held my hand while I drove and I knew it was killing him to not sit next to me. But I wanted to take this slow. I did not want to be another tally on his wall.
We pulled up to my house and I parked the truck. He told me to wait in the truck and he walked around to my side and opened the door for me. He helped me down and grabbed my bags for me and handed them to me. He then walked me to the door and paused.
"I had a lot of fun today. Thank you for coming with us." I smiled at him.
"Of course, if you want me somewhere, I will be there." He smiled at me and started to lean down and I leaned forward to kiss him.
But the door opened, revealing an upset dad of mine. My dad wasn't big but he was still intimidating about his appearance. He was around six feet and had dark brown hair with dark brown eyes, almost black. He wasn't super muscular but he did know how to fight when it came down to it. I've only seen that side of him once and I hope I never see it again.
"Hello son, what is your name?" He huffed out.
"Hello sir, my name is Dean Rich." He held out his hand for him to shake. My dad's eyes widened for a split second, then they went back to normal. But he shook his hand anyway.
"Come in, Mia, we need to speak, it's important." My dad said, looking between me and Dean. I nodded.
"Okay dad, I will be right there." I smiled up at him. He nodded and went back into the house.
"I don't want to keep you, so I will see you tomorrow." He smiled and kissed my forehead. I gave him a hug in return.
"Okay, thank you Dean. See you tomorrow." He slipped something into my bag and waved as he walked back to his car. I waved and walked inside.
I saw my parents sitting down in the living room. They both had serious and worried looks on their faces. I walked over and sat down across from them. I sat just watching them and then they finally turned to me.
"Mia dear, please don't be mad at us." My mom said sadly.
"Okay...?" I questioned.
"So you know John isn't your biological dad, right?" I nodded and my mom continued. "Your biological dad's name was Jacob." I nodded and he continued again. "You know that I practice magic." I nodded again, getting bored since I already knew all this.
"Yes, I know who my real dad is. I know you do magic for fun, but it doesn't really do anything... What are you getting at mom?" I spoke a little too harshly.
"It's not for fun baby, I just made you think that and you don't know about your real dad.." She spoke and then looked over at a vase full of flowers and mumbled something under her breath.
The vase started to float off the table and started to hover over the table. She mumbled something else and then it began to float towards us. My jaw hit the floor and I looked over at her and she was looking at me now. The next thing I knew, the vase of flowers was sitting on the coffee table between us. I looked back up at her expecting her to continue, but she didn't.
"So am I a witch?" I asked excitedly.
"Your father was a royal werewolf. He was the prince of all the werewolves, but turned it down because they wouldn't allow a witch to be queen." She looked sad and my dad rubbed her shoulder trying to sooth her.
"So what does that make me?" I questioned.
"You, my dear, are the first ever hybrid. You are both a werewolf and a witch. You are also the heir to the royal throne. The reason we kept this from you is because there is a war coming and we didn't want you to be a part of it. But now the royal guards are looking for you so that you can lead them through this battle. They are getting closer to finding you, so we need to start your training now so that you can protect yourself against them."
I am royalty... I am a werewolf... I am a witch... I am a hybrid...
