   Duvendir stood quietly behind his father, putting pieces together in his head. He overheard his parents talk about this day. The day Laegwen would awaken. He watched as the vines wrapped around Laegwen's jerking body snugly, keeping her from hurting herself. Her bright red hair had risen around her face, forming a halo that looked like a circle of fire around her head. Her eyes weren't gray anymore, but a scary shade of steel, and she kept mumbling words. His father was still standing over the altar, muttering enchantments that he had never heard before.
