Chapter 23Recovery

Selene’s POV

My Dad sobs on my shoulder, I look at everyone In the room “Okay time to explain what I’ve missed” I tell them. They all look at me worriedly Aeron sighs “You just woke up Selene let’s take it slow yeah?” I groan “I need someone to catch me up to speed I’m so confused right now it’s making me frustrated” I whine.

he sighs again running his hand through his white hair “Tell me what you’re confused about” he says “Well can someone answer me why dad looks this way I’ve been asking that forever now and no one seems to answer!” I say with frustration

“Asher and I fought him”Aeron says lowly I gasp

“you did what!” I look in between them both

“I fought him because it was all his fault on why you ended up in a coma his ego got the best of him he shouldn’t have let you fight Axel he’s an Alpha Wolf you both match closely in strength there was no reason to put you through that test” I look at my father he’s leaning on my shoulder still with his eyes closed shut his sobs turned to soft snores I shake him lightly and realize he has fallen asleep. “So you all just took turns beating him up?” I say angrily “At the time we didn’t know if that match killed you so yes I took great pleasure in fighting the old man” I shake my head again “Don’t say that brother he’s still the king” he scoffs “if you would have died I would have killed him” he says angrily

“Enough! He’s our father and you will give him the proper respect” he grumbled lowly but didn’t dare say another word.

“Axel can you call for the nurse? Please” he looked at me nervously but complied with my request a few moments later a lady with the name tag that said Nancy came in. “Hi princess did you need something?” I nodded

“My father needs medical attention he is asleep right now please do a physical examination he’s not healing properly”

“He’s not healing because he hasn’t ate or slept since you’ve been in a coma he refused to” she says sadly I sighed “that’s not okay on so many levels but the important thing is that we get him better please can you have a couple people come and take him.” She nodded and a few moments later 3 male nurses came in they picked up my dad and put him on a stretcher my dad didn’t wake up from his sleeping state instead snores loudly. They wheeled him out but before Nancy left I stopped her “Please inform me of the results” she nodded and bowed respectfully exiting the room.

“Yes princess”

All the guys just watched me without saying a word I looked up at Axel. “Okay now fill me in on what happened during our fight”. He explains everything that happened and I do remember when he pushed down on my neck I remember it hurt like hell. “I’m sorry” he says coming to kneel at my bedside “I didn’t mean for it to knock you out this long or put you in critical condition it was just meant to give me a few seconds so I could be declared the winner” he says sadly I looked into his amber eyes and touched his cheek, delightful tingles spread all across my hand “It’s okay” I say softly we had a moment of silence before I spoke.

“So who won? Because I blasted you with a final shot I remember that much” he chuckles “Yeah that final shot knocked me out cold for a few days, But I woke up first so I think I won” he says with a smug smile.

I cross my arms over my chest “Maybe we should have a rematch” I say the boys shout in unison “No!” I laugh.

“We won’t ever be fighting like that ever again” Axel laughs softly food is brought in and we eat in comfortable silence. “Would you guys all mind stepping out I’d love to take a shower and change into something else, this hospital gown is itchy” they nod their heads Asher goes and informs the nurse of my request a few moments later two ladies come in. They introduced themselves as Clara and Olivia they are nursing assists here at the pack hospital. They helped me stand up carefully and walked me to the bathroom I sat on a chair and turned on the water.

The hot water hit my skin and it felt so amazing my bones instantly relaxed “You have beautiful hair” Clara tells me while shampooing my hair

“Awe thank you!” I say kindly

“You’re welcome! And your skin you need to drop the skin care routine” she gushed and I laughed “I don’t think I have one I live under the water remember” they giggled unison “how old are you both if you don’t mind me asking”

“Oh I don’t mind at all I’m 18 and Olivia is 17 she turns 18 tomorrow” Clara said shyly

“Oh wow you both are older then me” I say as a washed my face with a wash cloth

“Oh yes we are but we aren’t as fortunate to have met our mates yet like you I would have loved to be Lu…” Olivia is quickly cut off by Clara I stared at them with confusion “who said I’ve met my mate?”

They looked at each other for a second worriedly “Oh Uhmm I had just thought you had because your a siren.. yeah I thought sirens meet their mates earlier” Olivia said nervously, I knew instantly they were lying but I decided not to question it at least not today I didn’t have the energy to entertain none sense.

“Oh Okay no we don’t meet our mates till 18 what age do you recognize your mates?” I ask them

“We recognize our mates at the 18 that’s when we are considered adults” Olivia said rapidly

“Okay enough about mates Olivia ” Clara said sternly scowling at her. They stayed silent for the remainder of the shower, they helped me dry up and put on some of my favorite lotion, and they brought me a pajama set that was buttery soft. While Clara helped me put my night set on. Olivia changed all my sheets the boys walked in shortly after and Axel had a bundle of blankets in his hands . “I figured these would be more comfortable then the hospital blankets” I smiled at him “Thank you” I said shyly I love the feeling of a soft and cozy blanket. He put it over me and the warmth of the blanket soothed me Im not sure when but I fell asleep feeling exhausted from the day.
