Chapter 21 The Moon Goddess

Selene’s POV

I fell into a deep darkness after the fight, my body felt limp and everything hurt I was left in darkness for what felt like ages, until a tiny whole of light appeared. I was scared to follow it, was this my end? Did I die? I guess there was only one way to find out I told myself. I walked towards the light, the light expanded bringing me to a beautiful meadow its serene atmosphere made me gasp. The grass is a lush, vibrant green, swaying gently in the breeze, with delicate wildflowers in an array of colors—soft blues, purples, pinks, and yellows—dotting the landscape like tiny jewels. The air is thick with the sweet scent of blooming plants and fresh earth, carrying a sense of peace and wonder. There’s a path in the middle of it all I look out and see a women her petite figure and long blonde hair, her blue eyes shined at me giving me a warm and familiar feeling. I walked closer and realized who the women was “Mom” I gasped lowly and I couldn’t help it I ran to her as fast as I could tears streamed down my face. “Mom” I repeated a little louder she ran to me to and we embrace each other in a tight hug. “I’ve missed you mom! But how and why? Am I dead?” I cried

“No No baby girl you are not dead” she says sniffling

“On the contrary you have a destiny to fulfill my love” she grabs my face and kisses my cheeks gently “the last I remember dad made me fight Axel I don’t know what happened to him I’ve been in darkness for what felt like ages” I say

she frowns “Your foolish father” she huffs angrily “I don’t know what we are going to do with him he shouldn’t have made you fight Axel he’s your.. m.. Prince an allied prince” she says nervously

“I know he put me to the test in front of everyone and he told me if I didn’t win I couldn’t fight in war” I muttered “ it’s okay my darling although his reason was foolish your father loves you my love, he is human even though he’s the king he makes mistakes just like everyone else” I sniffle nodding my head tears flow like a river down my cheeks “I have missed you so much mom” I hugged her tightly she ran her warm fingers through my hair “I know baby girl I know” she grabbed my face gently our eyes met and she looked at me with love and adoration her gentle gaze drank in all my features “I would stay here forever if I could unfortunately I cannot my love the moon goddess Selene has requested your presence and has allowed us this visit” I looked at her with confusion “I don’t understand” I said shaking my head “Selene the moon goddess has something urgent to tell you and then you’ll be transported back to earth my love”

“No I don’t want to can’t I stay here mom please !” I begged as more tears flowed out of my eyes “You have a great destiny to fulfill my sweet girl and I’d love to have you here with me but unfortunately is not your time just yet” she said as she cleaned the tears off my face. We walked up the beautiful path my mom held me tightly under her arm. Her warmth is something I’ve missed the most we made it up the hill and I was met with a women with long lushes black hair, violet colored eyes with a small figure and a beautiful white gown swishing in the breeze “Selene” she smiled warmly to me her presence was like a breathe of fresh air her calm and soothing aura made me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

I stepped forward and she embraced me in a hug “My girl” she whispers her gaze never leaving mine. I look over at mom and she’s smiling “you know I picked out your name” she laughs

Her laugh sounded heavenly like the best melody that has ever filtered into my ears “You did?” I say “Mmhm I visited your mother in a dream and asked you be named after me” she smiles “And why is that?” I say with confusion “Because you my dear are a reincarnation of me” she says as she touches my cheek “That can’t be” I say

“I gave you a part of my soul Selene to fulfill your destiny, there’s a war coming as you already know the vampires kings sons greed has reached new heights he’s not only killing supernaturals but he is killing humans and has them as slaves.” She says sadly before continuing “For this battle I have gave you great strength you will know when it’s time to unleash that power but you must train and trust in your mate and remember you are part of me we can wield the same magic” the moon goddess says reassuringly “or mates” my mom chimes in the moon goddess frowns and mom shrugs “Yes or mates” she shakes her head disapprovingly

“I don’t understand am I supposed to go against my fathers decisions? Because he stated if I didn’t win I couldn’t fight” she shook her head “your father is a interesting man and when you return you will see he will have changed everything will be a tad bit different” she smiles I shake my head again “I can’t do this I can’t be you!” She giggles “you can and it’s a little to late you already are me a part of me” she smiles “we must go Selene it was a pleasure to meet the other part of my soul” she giggles mom comes back up to me “We must go my sweet girl trust in the goddess’s gifts” she says reassuringly tears stream down my face again she kisses my forehead “Please mom don’t go I need you” I say softly “I’m always with you my love” she plants another kiss on both my cheeks and I watch as they walk into the light “Mom! Selene! Please don’t leave me” I beg they don’t listen the light flashes.

I’m hit with blinding light and just like that they are gone. I cry wildly as my soul is sucked back into the darkness my body feels hot like I’m boiling inside… I hear voices Axel and maybe Asher’s voice but I couldn’t be sure .. and is that Aeron?

I run to the sound I see my broken and battered body laying on a hospital bed I gasp at the sight of myself I touch the bruise etched on my forehead and my soul is absorbed back into my body. My eyes open widely and Im met with the concerned faces of Asher, Axel, and Aeron.
