Chapter 22 She’s awake

Axels POV

It’s been a week since I’ve been awake but my mate continues in her unconscious state with no improvement we’ve had multiple drs come assess her and none of them can figure out what’s wrong with her they have taken out all the tubes because her oxygenation has become better, her blood work is all clear to. We still don’t understand why her body has not healed either her bruises are still as blue and purple as the day of the fight. Poseidon has a week or 2 that he hasn’t eaten his body is weak and limp without nutrition he won’t heal properly but he refuses to listen. He has stayed day and night with our mate just like me and Asher food and fresh clothing is brought up to us daily, but Poseidon is stubborn. We decided to moved our mate to a bigger room with a couch and living area since we are just about living at the hospital right now.

A Knock is heard at the door “come in” I say while holding my mates hand “Any news?” Aeron says I shake my head “No, the siren Dr couldn’t figure it out either they have no idea why she hasn’t woken up yet or why her advanced healing hasn’t kicked in” Aeron sighed.

Poseidon stayed silent he hadn’t spoke since his son last beat him up a few days ago, he stays in here as still as a statue. Asher came out of the bathroom freshly showered and greeted Aeron “hey man” he said as he shook hands with Aeron.

Asher sat on the right side of our mate we made light conversation when Asher jumped up with excitement “She moved her fingers!” He said loudly we all ran to her left side including Poseidon waiting see what he saw and we saw a lot of nothing I smacked him on the back of his head “You i***t she didn’t move at all your delusional” I said angrily

“She did I swear! Why would I lie” he said defensively

“You wouldn’t lie but your mind is playing tricks on you” I huffed.

We stayed in silence until i looked up at the monitor her respiration rate increased it went from 16 to 22. My eyebrows creased in confusion, her body shifted a little “Oh my goddess did you see that!” I said they all shook their heads “Whose delusional now?” Asher scoffed I frowned.

she then moved her hand upwards and groaned in pain and this time we all saw it and heard it. We stayed in shock until her body glowed a yellow light her body started to heal at rapid speed the wounds on her fingers healing themselves and the bruises on her face vanished. Her lips returned back to the rosy pink color they were and her once pale yellow skin turned into its natural tone her fair skin glowed, her sunken cheeks returned back to their normal state. Her heart shaped face returned we all gasped at the rapidness of it all and then her eyes shot open her beautiful blue eyes met all of ours one by one. She stared at us in shock but we couldn’t form any words.

“W.. Wa..” she rasped at us “Water!” Asher yelled and ran towards the side of the room to fetch the water me and Aeron assisted her up in sitting position. Asher got a cup with a straw and placed the straw on her lips, she sucked on it eagerly. “M.. more” she says lowly Asher rushed to grab her more water. Dr. Liam came flying in “The monitors there going..” he stopped in his tracks “She’s awake!” He whispered we all nodded our heads he stepped forward and our wolves growled menacingly, she glanced around the room. “I have to check her over Alphas please” he says lowly he walks up to her carefully we put pillows behind her so she can sit up straight. Her confused pout is etched on her face “Hi, Princess do you remember who these gentlemen are?” She looked at us one by one again “Of course I do why wouldn’t I ” she frowned there was a sound of relief all around the room “Do you know where you are?” Dr.Liam asked “Some type of hospital I’d guess considering the pale paint and machinery everywhere” she frowned he laughed “Perfect! I’m going to check your lung sounds is that okay” she nodded meekly he listened to her lungs and examined her skin.

He smiled “Your skin looks wonderful your body finally healed itself you don’t even have a scar on you” he smiles brightly she grins and I can’t explain what a relief it is to see her smiling face and rosy cheeks she turns to her father. “What happened to you? You look terrible” she says trying to climb out of the bed we all turn to stop her “Easy easy Princess you’ve been in a coma for almost 2 weeks please don’t strain yourself” Dr.Laim says “2 weeks? 2 weeks” she repeats and frowns “what happened with the vampire kings reply, who won the fight me or Axel, and dad you look terrible can someone get that man a protein shake and a physical examination please” she says at rapid speed and starts hyperventilating “Hold on Hold” Asher coos “everything is going to be okay well explain everything just calm down” Asher says to her. She breathes in and out exhaling slowly and sits back down “would you mind shutting the blinds my eyes are hurting from the sun light” she says with her eyes closed. Poseidon shuts the blinds and Asher turns on just the restroom light

“I’ll have someone bring food for King Poseidon okay? and Selene we’ll do some blood work on you and if everything checks out you’ll be free to go back to the pack house for recovery” he tells us we all nod still looking at Selene he exits the room swiftly.

Aeron touches her arm softly “What are you doing here brother” she says with her eyes still closed “I’m here making sure my little sister is okay” she giggles with her eyes still shut her beautiful personality has returned. “Hmm well in that case come give me a hug because I have missed you” she says with another giggle they embrace each other in a hug the action making my wolf grumble with jealousy. “why are you grumbling over there?” She questions as Aeron pulls away from her smirking

I run my hand behind my neck nervously “Come on come give me a hug” she extends her arms for me and I rush at her she squeals happily at our contact. I pull away and her arms extend again “Hello Asher I’m waiting” she laughs he goes over and embraces her he inhales deeply making her giggle. He pulls away and the room falls silent for a moment until “What dad you’re not going to give me a hug?” She questions her dad comes over limping my wolf growls protectively. “ calm down wolf boy” she says with her eyes still closed she embraces her father in a hug and he sobs silently “It’s okay dad we all make mistakes” she whispers he continues to sob “I thought I lost you” he rasps “you can’t get rid of me that easy father” she says with a smile she finally opens her eyes again and looks at her father “you need to be in the hospital I can smell your injuries” she says worriedly “it’s nothing I didn’t deserve” he says lowly.
