Chapter 15 Werewolf Training

Selene’s POV

Tea with Amelia went great we talked about all kinds of things, she told me about herself in her teen years and how her and the alpha king met. I’m so happy we got to spend time together, we bonded over stories and I even entrusted a few secrets to her.

She seemed to understand me and how difficult it is to be the only daughter of the Siren King. After tea I came back to my quarters to get ready to train with the wolves, I chose to wear a pink sports bra, a black active sweater and black leggings, I paired the outfit with black converse, normally I’d be wearing running shoes but these will have to do for now. I pulled my hair up in a pony tail, I give my self a once over and may I just say I look so cute. I make my way to the kitchen and I’m surprised to see Axel and Asher there “Oh hey” I say shyly “Hey are you ready?” Asher says biting into an apple I nod “I was just getting some water before going up and finding my father to let him know I’m leaving to the training grounds”

“King Poseidon is in my dads office, he is having a drink with him I’ll let my dad know where you will be” Asher assures me

“Gosh my dad has been drinking a lot it’s not like him” I say

They frown at each other but don’t reply to my comment. I follow them into the training grounds and I can already see all eyes are on us. The wolves are all stretching they were all talking but now that the Princes are here and they have all stopped, “We have the honor today to have Princess Selene here with us for training today” the crowd howls and cheers for me excitedly.

I spot the girl that attacked me on my first morning of my arrival she’s glaring at me with a murderous stare and I can’t help but smirk I stand in line in the front row, I whip my head to the right and see the guy that was naked in front of me that morning is also here, his hazel eyes are looking at me and he has a smile on his face. I blush slightly at the memory and as if he could read my thoughts he chuckles softly. Axels voice rips through the crowd “ give me 20 laps around the field we all begin our run some slower then others the guy from the morning jogs up to me on lap 10 “Hey! My name is Braden” He says he extended his hand for me to shake, we shook hands but kept running at a good pace

“Hi I’m Selene” I reply panting from the run

“So how are you liking the pack?” I shrugged

“I’ve been stuck inside the pack house besides that first morning when I managed to sneak away for a morning run but the people are nice ” I reply

“Oh wow well maybe I can show you around” I frowned

“Thank you but my father would never allow that”

“Uff well maybe I can make my way to the pack house and we can hangout there?” I smile at him

“Braden! Stop talking and keep it moving” Asher’s voice shouts

“Oh, he sounds pissed” he tells me with a chuckle

“Yeah he does! I bet I can finish these last few laps before you” I challenge him he smirks and breaks out in a run “No fair!” I say running as fast as I can.

we push through the last few laps, I won by a second difference. I stop in the front of the training ground panting to get some breath in “You only won by a second” he says panting

“A win is a win it doesn’t matter by how much” I laugh he pushes me slightly while laughing low in his chest. Axel blows his whistle signaling for the next part of training to begin.“Defense tactics is next everyone get into your pairs” Axel shouts as he glares at Braden.

Asher comes jogging over to me “Everyone already has their assigned partner so I’ll step in with you” I nod. We get into position and I can easily see that he’s a great fighter his stance is strong and he’s looking for weak points he starts with slow strikes and then they become more intense, I strike at him hoping to pin him down but he blocks my attack we circle around each other a few more time neither one of us could pin the other down, the whistle blows again and it’s time to spar.

i look up on the stands and see my father and the alpha king are watching us train. My dad gives me a nod signaling me I am to spar with everything I have against Alpha Asher we go into the ring circling each other sizing each other up I can tell he feels like I’m no threat because of my size, he has a smug smile on his face.

He shifts his weight, trying to read my body language. The first exchange comes quickly. Asher hits me with a quick jab, to the ribs his movements are fluid and calculated, Asher comes in with another job but this time I’m ready for him I redirect the hit immediately following up with a low kick aimed to his leading leg. Asher evades the kick, by lifting his leg just enough to avoid the strike, then counters with a right hook that narrowly misses as I ducks under his arm.

Our rhythm accelerates with every movement, our bodies move like instinct, reacting before thinking. I block his hit our feet barely touch the ground, constantly shifting, slipping in and out of range, testing each others defenses. With blistering speed I run under him I grab his right leg and shift his balance downward i slam him hard to the ground and grab both arms bending them upward he grunts in pain but is unable to move Axel blows the whistle and cheers break out I realized everyone had stopped what they were doing to watch us spar. Asher gets up and gives me a smile and a tight hug “I underestimated you” he says with adoration in his voice

I looked over to my father and he has the biggest smile on his face and even clapped a few times for me, The alpha king on the other hand was not excited for me he seemed upset.

I see my dad whisper something to The Alpha king and his face looks in shock and he shakes his head, he doesn’t want to comply to whatever my dad just said. My dad shrugs and looks forward to the training arena, I feel a tap on my shoulder and whip my head around to see a lovely girl, black hair and brown eyes “Hi I’m Hailey that was amazing do you think we can spar sometime” I smile at her “Sure I’m only here for a short time if my father will allow it I’d be happy to” I grin

I look over back to my father he’s having a heated conversation. My fathers face darkens and so does the Alpha Kings they walk down the arena stairs to get to the training area “You did well my daughter but now it’s time you show me you are ready for battle, you will fight Alpha Axel with everything you’ve got” I shake my head

“But father I could kill him” my dad chuckles lightly “if you manage to kill him then he was never worth any space on this earth” he says venom lacing his voice.

“I can’t do that” I say nervously my chest constricts at the thought of hurting Axel.

“You can and you will because if you don’t you will not be participating in this war” I shake my head

“You need me!” I say

“You have to show me your strong enough to handle battle this is your test!” I huff out a breath and look at Axel he’s mind linking the Alpha king no doubt probably arguing in the same manner as I am. But my fathers word is set in stone we must fight
