Chapter 16 The Fight

Axels POV

After my little mate beat my brother I was impressed.

My father opened up the mind link with me and Asher “Son the Siren King has asked Axel to fight his daughter in a real fight were powers and shifting is permitted” I shake my head in disbelief of what I’m hearing, “sparring and battling are two completely different things I won’t fight her” i shout in the link

he sighed “The siren King has made a proposition if you manage to beat his daughter he will allow her to come up here once a month until her birthday otherwise he’ll make sure she stays under the sea and doesn’t return” I growled “he can’t do that!”

“He can and he will he’s a man of his word” My dad says angrily.

I growled anger boiling inside of me “This isn’t right!” Asher snarled “I know boys it’s not but he won’t see reason” I could feel the disapproval in his voice “Tell him I’ll fight her but he must bring her every 2 weeks and if she forfeits I won’t continue” I snarl

“You’re not really thinking of fighting her! Axel she could get hurt!” Asher yelled in the link

“Yeah well if this is what her daddy dearest wants, I’ll make sure she forfeits before anything happens” my wolf growls at me whimpering in my head he loves her that’s his mate. “He accepted the offer only if you win will you be able to see her once every 2 weeks”

I exhale slowly I watch as her father comes down the arena and lets her know she is to fight me her argument is similar to mine except he didn’t tell her she would be coming here every 2 weeks he told her she wouldn’t be able to fight in war if she didn’t win me

Her face darkened she wants justice for her people just like any of us Alphas do. She turns to look at me with hurt in her eyes “I’m sorry Axel, I’m apologizing ahead of time” she says softly

“Clear the training parameter!” My dad commands. Everyone who was training runs on the stands “Today Axel and Selene will fight a true combat battle, shifting is permitted, and powers are permitted the first one to forfiet wins! this is a test bestowed by the great Siren king for his daughter” his voice booms.

The warriors on the stands cheer with excitement, and a few howls from the warrior men are heard.

Selene’s face is contorted in anger she angry at her father for bestowing a test on her, if she doesn’t win she won’t go to war and fight for her people, but if we don’t win we won’t see her ever again her true fated mates.

The whole things is f****d up! My wolf is a growling mess in my head

Selene jogs to the right end of the field and I jog to the left side, the cheering gets louder, “Please tap out if your to exhausted to keep going” I yell at Selene

She has a guilty expression on her face “You to” she yells back at me “Begin!” The Alpha kings voice booms through the arena “Be careful with her please!” Asher mind links me

I charge at her at wolf speed, she waits for me to get close enough and then hops up over me I grab her by her Ankle and slam her to the ground.

She dusts herself off and throws her jacket off her eyes shine brightly and the yellow ring in her eyes glows. She barrels towards me at lightening speed, I charge at her at the same speed, i attack her left side and she narrowly dodges my hit she grabs me by the throat and swings me to the side. My body makes an impact with the ground f**k she’s strong. I shift into my wolf form shredding all my clothes. The crowd cheers loudly again proud to see there Alpha standing.

She smirks I circle around her like she’s prey, she takes a deep breath and mutters something lowly she lifts an arm up lightening strikes on me, my guttural growls are heard all around the arena. The impact hurt, my blood felt like it was sizzling itself alive. Adrenaline coursed through me I barrel towards her at were wolf speed she’s about to strike me with lightening again when I grab ahold of her with my snapping jaws and throw her against a nearby tree, “uff” she groans she get up off the floor blood dripping down her face, her face contorts into anger “You shouldn’t have done that” she screams angrily, a gust of wind is formed and she threw it at me, along with more lightening she strikes me again and I fall to the floor.

I shake off the pain, as I barreled towards her again dodging all her elemental attacks I got close enough to her to grab her when suddenly she dodged me and hits my snout with lightning bolts, I whimpered in pain, while being blasted all the way across the field, she stalked towards me ready to strike. My mate is strong, and her strikes are calculated

I got up and decided my best bet to win is to knock her out. She shot another lightening bolt at me and this time it stayed etched on my skin zapping me with every moment I made. Chaos howled in pain, she stared at me with hurt evident in her eyes she clutched her chest painfully, the tether in her mate bond must be going hay wire mates are never supposed to fight like this, this is cruel.

I get up still feeling the electricity running in my veins still, this must have been what she did to that she wolf the other morning I thought to myself.

I managed to stand up whimpering in pain, she grabbed me by my scruff and threw me against the sparring arena a loud crash was heard, along with my groans of pain.

“Get up!!” The Alpha Kings voice boomed from the stands I got up snarling in pain Selene’s eyes were trained on me like pray “forfeit now!” She shouted “No!” I roared getting up off the floor
