Chapter Twenty-Seven
Aubriot was kicking up a fuss. Cariad could hear him even at a distance as his voice echoed through the tunnels of the underground settlement. She caught the words ‘expertise’ and ‘proven record.’ She sighed, resigning herself to the fact that she should probably go and find out what was happening. Aubriot could be intimidating to others, though she was no longer intimidated by him at all. She didn’t want him to bully someone into allowing him to have his way, especially not with the present state of things. Everyone had to do as they were told for all their safety.
