Ariadne P.o.v

I snapped the man’s neck only to remember that I was late for the festival of the fallen. A lady needs to do what a lady has to, but most people would not consider me a proper lady, well at least not most people I had met. I took out my dagger from the man’s chest, there was no way I was leaving this behind. He is not worth it. I was walking through the village market yesterday only to see a man beating a woman who I later found out from some people is his wife. I was so furious, but I decided to wait so as to know more about what was happening.

After several more kicks, he left his wife who was near death on the ground, I ran to her and helped her to one of the servant’s home which was close by. When I got back there at the break of dawn, she was awake but still weak. She told me her story and I was agitated. I could not believe why she kept quiet all this time, she confessed it was because of daughter, but that animal tried to force himself on her. When she confronted him, it resulted in the beating.

So I decided to pay him a visit, on getting there the fool was trying to outsmart me, I guess he did not know of my origin. My mother was a witch and my father is the emperor, I was also blessed by the gods. Not as much as Theseus but I had some gifts too, and I had been trained since my childhood days.

I made my way back to the servant’s home to see the woman, she was looking better and well rested. She smiled at me and I smile back and explained to her who I was and what had happened with her husband. She seemed nervous when she heard my name but a smile crept up her face, I was relieved. She told me that her husband had threatened to kill her if she ever told anyone about him, and his bad behavior. But now she knows she is free. She thanked me and I left her with the servant.

I was back at the palace when I noticed the high priestess making her way out of the golden room. She stopped and informed me of her vision, I was confused knowing Theseus would never agree to that. He was stubborn and most people feared him but I do not. She kept insisting that it would be better for us all, mostly our lineage if my brother accepted it. Because just as his lamp went off, so could our lineage. She left before I get more words out of her. I walked into the golden room to see my father talking to his ministers like nothing had happened. He asked why I had missed the festival, I told him the reason and he was happy I was able to help the woman, but insisted I tell him about it next time. I agreed and left him to go find Theseus.

I walked in on him torturing the lady, and he refused to listen to reason because he believed she was sent by Alexandros, I was able to get him to let me tend to her, but only after he insisted that if he sensed something wrong, he would kill her. The girl was a fragile girl, and I liked her. I bathe her and tend to her while she slept. Theseus had informed us both that we were to leave at dawn the next day, I ordered the maids and servants to pack our clothing’s against the trip the next day.

I ordered the maids to help ocean  change into one of my dresses, while I went with Theseus to bid father farewell. I glanced up to see the maid lead ocean toward where the carriage was waiting. She was really a damsel, the dress she had on matched the color of her eye, her hair was neatly braided and adorned with gems. She really looked like a princess, I guess the gods did pick a beautiful one for Theseus, I just hope he sees it soon. I could also see that Theseus was mesmerized by her beauty, at least there was hope for the both of them.

Oceans P.o.v

I woke up to the sound of servants moving chest out of the chambers. I remembered the devil telling us that we would be leaving to a place today. I do not know where it is that he was talking about. I saw a maid walk in, she smiled and said;

“The princess ordered us to help you get ready for you journey”

“  I do not need any help, I will be ready in a sometime, thank you” I was getting out of bed when I remembered that I had no dress to wear.

“maybe just one thing, I need my dress from last night, if you can please show me where the princess is, I will go and get it”

“the princess ordered  us to pick out a dress for you, I picked out this one, since it matched the color of your eyes”

“ hmmmmn, I do not think I hear you right…….”, we all know that dress like that are only made for princesses like Ariadne, I could not …….wear such…….  

“ the princess told me you might not allow us tend to you, but you must hurry for the dragon king is outside waiting along with the princess, and they do not like to be kept waiting……”

“ oh that devil, I mutter, may the gods help me….., “

“ let’s get to it then, lets bathe you first then get you all dolled up. The princess trusted me with this and I would hate to fail her this time.

I walked out to the pool and I noticed that the water was steamy, just as I would have like it. She helped me out of the robe, and I stepped down to the pool, she moved over to the same place the princess did last night. she scrubbed me clean, and then dried my body….

“ you have a beautiful skin for a slave, where are you from? “

“ I do not know” ,

“ I see”

We had now reached the bed chambers and she helped me put on the dress and then braided my hair, she dusted some scent like thing on my body, I asked her what it is,

“it’s a scented oil gotten from the nectar of a flower in the south,”

I nodded at her, she then brought out some sandals from the chest, it had gold embodied all over it. I almost hesitated but I knew it was of no use, she had her orders.

“Now you are ready, Shall we? “ she said while helping me up…….., I felt different, almost like a princess, almost. We walked to the door and the guards opened it

“ get the last  of the chests from the bed chambers, it’s time to leave”, she said to the servant we passed by the hallway, I was once again drawn in by the art work on the walls. We soon came outside and I could see Ariadne bidding her father farewell ( I longed for that ever since I was a child). I felt tears in my eyes but I pushed it back. Ariadne turned back to look at me, she looked elegant just like the princess she is. She did not wear a dress like the one I was wearing but she was in a man’s clothing, but still look elegant. I noticed a carriage beside her with the emperor’s crest on it (the dragon spitting fire), I figured that’s for us to travel in).

“you look beautiful, I always knew you have more inner beautiful all it needed way the right push”, good work Lilian, I bowed to the emperor once we were standing in front of him, and so did Lilian.

“you may rise”

“I looked up but still avoided looking him in the eye,

“you look dashing, I take it something good did come from this arrangement by the gods, He walked closer to me while I cowered in fear, he stopped in front of me and leaned forward to my ears and said,

“ the only reason why you were spared is because the gods think you have a purpose to fulfill by bearing my grandchildren, but be warned if by the next harvest festival, you are not with child, then you will be sacrificed to the gods.

I shivered while I listened to his warnings, how am I supposed to make the devil bed me, not that I want that. I know he would never even allow that…….what am I to do now, I was lost in my thought when I heard the princess say,

“ father, do not frighten the poor girl, ocean let’s go “

“ Are you ready” I heard that voice, the voice I dreaded  the most, I had almost forgotten about his existence.

“Yes” Ariadne held my hand and helped me into the carriage. To say it was beautiful was an understatement, it was all bright and properly decorated just like the palace was. i figured that is one of the perks of been from the royal family, gold was showered everywhere they went like it was nothing.

I looked at the door of the carriage and expected the prince to come in, but instead it was shut after Lilian came in sitting next to me,while Ariadne was on the other side. I looked out the window which was opened to see the devil walk pass, our eyes came in contact but I lowered my gaze,

“He is not coming? “I asked the princess

“Theseus?”, She asked, I figured that must be his name

“yes, the prince”

She grinned and replied,” he is coming with us, but he will be riding the horse and leading the way just in case of bandits, not that anyone would be stupid enough to attack the royal carriage.

“berries, my princess?” Lilian asked holding out a tray of fruit

I see Ariadne pick some and threw it in her mouth, while chewing slowly. Lilian held out the tray to me too, but I refused while shaking my head. I asked Ariadne;

“How long is this journey and where are we heading to”

“ The crescent palace….and it should take four days to get there, but not to worry we would make camp at nightfall”

“ the crescent palace?, where is that?”

“That’s Theseus kingdom, his men are there too”

With that I remembered what the devil said to me while he was torturing me, He will give me to his men, and I paled and now am on my way there, another death sentence!

Theseus P.O.V

I was looking out the window when I saw her: the girl that was chosen by the Gods, she looked so amazing almost like a true queen but I know it will never be. I still have this feeling in my gut that she was planted by my ignorant brother but he underestimates me and my powers, I am far wiser than he is. I was disturbed to see Ariadne become friends so easily with the girl {I don’t even know what her name is}, I would have to find a way to break their so called friendship.

She made her way towards where Ariadne was with my father, I could see my sister smiling at her and the cunt smiled back. I noticed my father making his way towards her and whispering something into her ears, since I was not interested in what he had to say to her I didn’t bother listening in. she looked puzzled and I guessed she was frightened by what my father had said to her, Ariadne held her hands and led her into the carriage and since the sun was out I used my powers to bring myself in front of my father,

“Farewell father till we meet again” I said to him

“Farewell son take good care of your sister and remember Kara’s vision” he said

“Of course father how could I forget” with a little hint of sarcasm, I locked gaze with the cunt as I made my way to my horse but she looked away almost immediately. I would have rather teleported myself but It would have drained my energy since I could only do it for short distances. And I could not leave my sister with that cunt, never.

I climbed on my horse and yelled “let’s go”, I only had one of my men with me, since I had my powers but you can never tell someone might act stupid. I kicked the horse and it jerked forward, my man followed and the two carriages did too. We traveled for hours only making a few stop along the way for the ladies to stretch and drink some water. I kept a close watch of the cunt and I had ordered my man to do the same. But surprising enough, she stayed close to Ariadne at all times, I could see their friendship growing. Soon it was dark and we stopped to make camp, once we stopped, the maid they had brought along got out of the carriage and started unpacking the tents, with no time, we had everything set up. The cunt just stood by a tree looking lost.

Soon Ariadne went to her while my man got the stick, I lit the fire just like I did at the festival. Super was cooked and served, Ariadne keep trying to talk the cunt to eat, I noticed she kept shaking her head refusing,

“Just leave her sister, I guess she must be missing her master”, I said trying to anger her…..

She looked up but said nothing while Ariadne sent me a glare.

“What!, it’s the truth, she might have been saved by you the other day, but another time will come, and I beckon it will come soon!.........just you wait………, she looked like she was close to tears, I got hear her sobbing.

“Theseus, enough!” Ariadne said, she looked angry….,I got up and walked farther into the woods to relieve myself………while I was at it I heard someone scream…….., what in the god’s name!
