ALLHALLOWS’S EVE “Trick or treat!” the children called out in unison as the door swung open. Standing in the open doorway was a middle-aged man, with a half-eaten Milky Way bar in his hand. He gazed down at the gathered ensemble of costumed little ones, eagerly holding out their brightly coloured buckets. “Yeah. Whaddya want?” he snarled, taking another chunk out of his chocolate, and chewing with his mouth open. The younger three kiddies all moved back, nervously, bumping into their elder accomplices. “Trick or treat,” Kerry called back, completely unfazed by the man’s rudeness. “Sod off,” he snapped.
