31 31The war room settled immediately when Boris Hamer entered. The five members of the task team assigned to the manhunt for Luc Fortesque scurried about the conference table, slipping into their seats, organising their notes, phones, tablets on the mahogany before them; Styrofoam cups were tossed into an overflowing waste bin. Hamer sat at the head of the table, took a moment of satisfaction in their complaisant expressions. He was the guy in charge, the guy each of these kids wanted to emulate.
