34 34The shockwave pummelled Fortesque, sending him flying toward the front of the house. The walls of the corridor were consumed by the conflagration. He landed on his face, felt a searing heat on his shoulders, climbing the back of his neck, to his head. He was ablaze! He twisted, swatting at the flames, scalding his hands. He stumbled forward and the edge of a coffee table caught his knee, bringing him down. He rolled, dousing the flames.
