After two and a half hours, Jace and Germain, the last two stragglers in the theater, stood, stretched, and ambled out of the air-conditioned auditorium. They exited the theater through the rear doors at the end of the corridor, and stepped out into an excruciatingly hot parking lot. “It must over one hundred degrees!” Germain said, exhaling. The two guys walked languidly over to Germain’s car parked beneath a lamppost at the far end of the lot. Got in. Germain cranked the A/C on high, and they sat in the front seat of the idling vehicle for ten minutes, drinking their sodas and watching people pulling out of the busy lot. “What did you think of the movie?” Germain asked. “It was cool.
