ISABEL'S POV
Leo’s words sent a cold shiver down my spine, causing me trip on my feet, and I almost face_ planted if it weren't for his hand holding me up.
"Careful," Leo said as he steadied me. I nodded, but the fall was the very least of my worries right now. My mind was on something else.
"I'm sorry, wha_ what was that? What did you say? You saw who?" The questions left my mouth all at once and Leo sighed.
"I know, Isabel. I'm as surprised as you are, believe me, I was so sure I was seeing things. But I swear, I did see her."
I stared at him, waiting for him to say something else—anything that would tell me he was joking, mistaken, or just overthinking things. But the grave look in his eyes told me he meant every word he just said.
