ISABEL'S POV. I swallowed heavily in fear as I turned in circles, scanning my surroundings, but there was no one in sight. Yet, the whispers kept coming, creeping up on me like shadows. I wasn't crazy. I wasn't losing my mind. I wasn't imagining them. They were real. I could tell. I knew something, or maybe someone was out there. A shiver crept down my spine. I could feel the presence lingering just beyond my reach, like a shadow watching from the darkness.
