ISABEL'S POV
Warm sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting brightness across the room. I stirred awake slowly, still cocooned in the comforting warmth of Leo’s embrace. His arm was draped protectively over my waist and I could feel his breath against the back of my neck. For a moment, I let myself savor the moment. I didn't want to get up, I wanted to remain here in his arms if only for a moment longer. It felt... peaceful.
But peace never lasted long in this world, did it?
My mind immediately started running through the day ahead. Marcy and Lila were going grocery shopping later today and I would really like to go with them. Hopefully I can get Leo to allow me. Also I suddenly had the urge to go check on Caleb, just to see how he was doing after what he went through yesterday.
