ISABEL'S POV As we pulled apart my eyes took in the sight of his shirt stained with blood. The sight of it made my stomach turn, but it wasn’t fear I felt—it was worry. I had seen him return from battles bloodied before, but this was different. No one gets this much blood on them from fighting an army of dead and dry bones. “How did you get so much blood on you?” I asked, my voice quiet as my eyes continued to take in the unpleasant sight. “Whose blood is it, Leo? What did you do?” At this point I'm not even sure I actually want to hear the answer. Whatever it was he did to get this much blood on himself couldn't have been anything good. But still I need to know. Leo let out a slow, tired breath and shook his head. “It’s not from anyone,” he said. “It belonged to a bear.” I frowned.
