The murmurs of pack members faded as all attention shifted to the new arrival. My gaze was fixed on the guard who entered, his face pale and sweat glistening on his brow. Every head turned toward him, the air in the room instantly thick with tension.
“What’s the problem?” I asked, doing my best to keep my tone steady, despite th tension I was feeling deep down. This was a meeting for goodness sake. Guards didn’t barge in unless it was something serious, they knew better.
The guard swallowed hard, his hands twitching at his sides. “ Something's happened, my alpha, something terrible. Men from Talon Pack are outside along with the beta. They’re requesting an audience with you.”
