Laura West
"Why did you come back?" Ryan asked while grabbing my wrist to stop me.
I came from the hospital, doctor Nate told me to take care of my legs. Otherwise, it will become worst. I reached the Dragon team stadium where I saw Ryan coming from playing court. We crossed each other, I acted like I didn't see him. But he stopped me by grabbing my wrist from behind.

I sighed, "I didn't want to come back." I replied asking him.
"Then, Why are you here?" He asked, still we both were not facing each other.
I didn't reply to that because I don't want him to tell about why I come back.
"I heard last night girls pranked you, by messing with your room." He snickered a little.
"Then you must have also heard what I did after that." I replied while coming forward to face him.
"Actually, I didn't hear that." He looked up while raising his brows.
He still didn't leave my hand.
"Then you should ask them." I replied while looking at my hand which he was holding.
And then I frowned. He understood what I was indicating. He left my hand shoving it.
"Well, what they did was really great. I was thinking why didn't I get that idea, my bad." Ryan said sarcastically.
Listening to him I remembered about last night.
"What? Did I hurt you?" Ryan asked teasingly.
I was tired and upset so I decided not to reply to him and to leave from here. I don't have any energy left now. I even started to walk.
"I thought you felt guilt about Casey's death and because of that, you decide to leave before. But I was wrong you are so shameful that you came back here." He uttered in a lower voice to stop me.
Listening to his words I stopped and my breathing became heavy. It reminded me of how Casey died and how I was the reason for her death.
"I want you to go back to the place you spend your two years because whenever I see you it reminds me of Casey." He speaks politely without even facing me.
I could feel hurt in his voice. I could sense how my presence has affected him. His voice was getting heavier as if he was holding back his tears.
"I turned watching his back, "I can't leave now, I am sorry," I said gasping.
He still didn't even turn back to look at me. He paused for a second. He gasped, "Then be ready because I will make your life hell and you will beg me to let you leave. Mark my words." He spoke angrily.
I heard him loud and clear. I knew he will make my life hell. He loved Casey so much that he didn't even forget about her. He is still holding a grudge against me.
"You don't belong here." He turned to face me and then left.
I was watching him leave, soon I saw doctor Nate coming towards me while running.
"Hey, Laura!" He yelled while coming toward me.
Ryan saw him calling my name. He stopped and turned to watch me.
"Hey, What are you doing here." I asked doctor Nate.
"You left these." He was holding the medicines that I forgot there.
"Oh, these, I must have forgotten them." I took my medicines from him.
"You should have called me, why did you come here." I spoke.
"Don't be so formal, I know that your leg has been swollen. How could I have asked you to come there again? You should take care of your legs and don't forget to take these medicines." He stares at my leg.
"I will and thank you for coming here." I spoke.
"I should go back now" He turns to walk.
He stopped and turned around, "And don't forget about the coffee treat. You promised me last time."
He smirked.
"Sure, I won't forget." I replied smiling.
He left and I saw Ryan was still standing there hearing our conversations. He scowls at me and then he snickered. He also left.

I opened my eyes hearing the sound of the alarm clock. Today I was feeling very fresh. Yesterday after coming from the hospital, I rested the whole time. I even took my medicines yesterday and I can feel my legs were getting fine compared to yesterday. I even woke up early today because I want to be on time. I don't want to be late today. I stood up and went straight to get ready. Soon I reached the playing court. No one was there.
I was one hour earlier this time. I was having an hour of free time. I decided to practice my running because I heard girls talking yesterday about the fitness test. I went to the stadium to run. I know doctor Nate told me to rest but I don't have that much time now. I only have a month to progress to get into the team permanently. I started running slowly trying not to give much force to my leg. It was still painful but I was trying hard not to hurt too much.
After running for a while, I was getting tired, I was out of breath. So I decided to rest for a bit. Again I started running after a while.

Ryan Garcia
I woke up early this morning because I couldn't sleep properly last night. I got ready and went downstairs. I saw from the distance that someone was running in the stadium. I went close and saw Laura running there. I was surprised to see her here. Arent that doctor told her to give rest on her legs? Why is she running now? Arent her leg in pain?
She saw me watching her. She stopped running in front of me. She was panting after running for a while. She seems to be out of breath.
"Are you punished again?" I asked.
She didn't reply but took a little breath.
"Are you ignoring me now?" I asked again.
But she didn't reply again.
She started running again. I could see she was running very slowly maybe because of her leg.
Soon everyone started to come downstairs, before going to the playing court everyone came to the stadium and saw Laura running.
Everyone started to whisper about her. Some were saying that she was again punished, and some were saying that she was showing off just to get attention. Everyone was talking differently about her. But she never stopped running, as if she has taken an oath to run. She could hear them talking but still, she ignored everyone as she did with me earlier.
Soon Head Coach and Junior Coach also came to watch her here besides going to the playing court. She saw Coach and stopped running. She was breathing heavily because of a shortening of breath. Lisa offered her a bottle of water. She drank a few sips from it.
Head Coach and the Junior Coach didn't say anything to Laura. When the Coaches came everyone stopped talking.
"I have an announcement, though I was going to announce it on the court, but you all are gathered here. So I have decided to announce this here." Junior Coach utters.
"Every time on nationals only seniors are participating but this time we have decided to give juniors a chance as well." Head Coach smiles.
Juniors started to cheer for Head Coach while seniors were a bit upset because every year they have participated in the nationals but this time maybe they won't get a chance to participate. Although I am also a senior, still I know very well that I will surely be performing in nationals.
"Focus on your training everyone. From today onwards it will be very difficult to train and I have bad news also." Junior Coach says.
Everyone started to have sad expressions upon hearing that.
"From today onwards, you will not get any holidays because you have to train hard for the nationals." Head Coach uttered.
That means we will not get our weekend holidays. It doesn't affect me a lot because after Casey died, I have forgotten to take the holidays. I have always been busy with my practice.
Everyone was sad because of not getting holidays except me and Laura. She was also neutral like me as if she also doesn't want the holidays.
Both Coaches were leaving from there by saying us to train and practice.
I saw Laura also wanting to leave the stadium following the Coaches.
"Everything is fine but why Laura is getting a chance to participate in nationals? Sam spoke rudely.
Laura and both the Coaches stopped in their places and turned.
Everyone was quite surprised by Sam's question.
"Yeah, she is right," Maria spoke in between.
"What do you mean by that?" Head Coach asked Sam.
"It's simple, she just came now and I could see she can't even take a few rounds of running. How could she be able to participate in the nationals?" Sam asked.
"Yeah, Could she participate?" Katherine spoke rudely.
Watching them arguing about Laura participating made me realize something. Why shouldn't I use this chance?
"Why don't you guys have a one-on-one match to see who is qualified or not?" I spoke confidently.
Laura scowls at me. I know what she is thinking. She must be thinking that I am doing this for revenge. She is correct but there is a slight change, I am doing this so she can realize that she doesn't belong here. So she can leave this place forever and not come back again.
I smirked.
