As the team struggled to maintain their balance, the rumbling noise grew louder, and the ground shook more violently. It was as if the very foundations of the temple were being stirred up.

Suddenly, the statue began to glow with an intense light, and the team felt themselves being drawn towards it. Elianore, still in a trance-like state, reached out and grasped the statue, holding it up in triumph.

"I don't like this," Liam said, his voice barely above a whisper. "Let's get out of here for now. We can come back later with more equipment and a better plan."

Maya nodded in agreement. "I think Liam's right. We've got the statue, and we can study it further in a safer environment. Let's pack up and head back to camp."

The team quickly gathered their gear and carefully wrapped the statue in a protective cloth. As they turned to leave, the whispers seemed to grow louder, and the team felt a sense of unease wash over them.
