Get a good night's sleep.

268 Words
The team tried to get some rest, but Sophia, Hawk, and Maya couldn't sleep. They sat around the campfire, chatting quietly to avoid disturbing the others. "I'm still trying to wrap my head around that statue," Sophia said, her eyes fixed on the flames. "I think it's more than just a simple artifact." Hawk nodded, his eyes scanning the darkness beyond the firelight. "I know what you mean. I've been feeling like...like something's off since we found it." Maya leaned forward, her voice low. "I think we're in over our heads. We don't know what kind of power that statue holds, or what kind of consequences we'll face if we keep studying it." As they talked, they heard a faint noise in the distance. At first, they thought it was just a stray animal, but then they heard it again - a low, crunching sound, like footsteps on gravel. Sophia's eyes widened. "What was that?" Hawk stood up, his eyes scanning the darkness. "I'll go check it out." But before Hawk could move, they saw it. In the distance, a figure emerged from the shadows, watching them with an unblinking gaze. The figure seemed to be made of shadow and darkness, its presence making their blood run cold. Sophia's voice was barely above a whisper. "What...what is that?" Maya's eyes were fixed on the figure, her face pale. "I don't know, but I think we need to get out of here. Now." The team froze, unsure of what to do next. The figure didn't seem to be moving, but its presence was suffocating, making it hard to breathe.
