Chapter 3

746 Words
I was so embarrassed that I didnt go to the police. I didnt even go to the hospital. It was my fault. If I hadn't have been so naive it wouldn't have happened. I invited this psycho into my apartment. I didnt even notice the signs. I also dont even know what his name is apparently. He said it wasn't Steve so what, I'm going to call the police and say yes I've been attacked and r***d but even though I've been talking to this guy for awhile I don't know his name and I don't know where he lives? Oh and yes I invited him over. They'll just think I was drunk and regret it. Plus my brother is a police officer that is the last thing I want is for him to hear my address over the radio or for him to be the one sent out. I don't want any of them to know I was stupid enough to do what I did. The only reason I did leave my house was for work and I wish I would've called in. My nosey ass coworker is friends with my brother's fiance. Instead of talking to me like a normal person she decided to call her after work asking what happened. Of course my future sister-in-law asked Trent. I got off at 5 and by 5:40 both Trent and Logan were at my door. Trent didnt even bother knocking he just used the key I gave him and waltzed right in. I tried to act like nothing was wrong, but I'd seen my face I know I have a fat lip and a black eye. I also know I probably have a cracked rib or two from being hit in the stomach. Trent immediately slammed the door and demanded, "Who did it?" I sighed, "Nice to see you too. Want a bowl I made mac n cheese?" His face somehow got even redder than it already was, "Fia dammit who did it!?" I gingerly sat in my oversized reading chair tucking my legs up under me and ignored him. Logan walked over and took my mac n cheese away from me. He handed the bowl to Trent and then started to pick me up, "Come on we're going to the hospital now.I know you haven't been checked out." As soon as he grabbed me I felt a searing pain in my side, so I grabbed a fistfull of his shirt and tried to fight back tears. He immediately froze, "What? What happened? Where are you hurt?" He set me back down and I clutched my side curling in a ball. Trent shoved the bowl onto the counter and leaned down in a softer tone, "Let me see your side." I shook my head and hissed out, "No I'm fine." He narrowed his eyed, "This is not fine. You are going to the hospital now. What shoes do you want its kind of cold out?" I shook my head again so he just randomly picked out a pair of slipper boots. He shoved them on my feet and tried to gently pick me up, "I know it hurts I'm sorry. We need to take you in though. You could have something seriously wrong and not know." He handed me off to Logan and ran downstairs to start the car. Logan then locked my apartment and carried me downstairs to Trents truck. He deposited me in the backseat and hopped up front with Trent. I didnt notice but Trent must've grabbed my wallet out of my purse and when we got the the hospital he handed them my ID and insurance card. The nurse took me back to the room and I decided to be honest. I told them I was r***d and that he said the name he gave was fake. They performed a r**e test on me and since it was just the previous night it was still possible to get DNA. They called for an officer to come down and I didnt even think to say anything until my brother Tyler walked in along with another officer. He looked furious when he saw me and his partner immediately made the connection and sent him out of the room. Officer Banders confirmed my worst nightmare, "They told us we were taking a r**e victim's statement. He knows I'm sorry." I started crying during my statement and hoped he was able to understand it all.
