Attacked

Chapter 8

After hauling myself back up I decided to curl up on the porch swing and wait. I started spacing off just looking at the trees when a car door slammed snapping me out of it. I glanced down and noticed the blonde speeding off. When did she walk out? Logan came back out of the house and raked his hand across his face, "Man she's a bitch." I immediately apologized, "I'm sorry if me being here caused any problems with you guys." He shot me the weirdest look I've ever seen, "Wait what? No that girl is someone your brother Teagan brought over the other night. She found out this was my house and switched targets halfway through the party. Just kept commenting on how nice my house was and hinting that I must have a lot of money. Complete trash. She's just a good digger. I felt bad for Teagan since he brought her but good thing it came out now right? You were invited to the party remember?" I nodded, "Oh right." I wish I would've come. If I wouldve come here instead of trying to have a love life I wouldn't have been attacked. He probably would've just done it another day though. Logan sighed, "Well I guess we better get going." I followed him down the stairs asking, "Isn't it a little chilly for swimming?" He laughed, "I have a hot tub too. Not just the pool out back." He helped me in the truck and before I knew it we were at Trent's house. As I was walking up the steps Samantha bolted out and threw herself at me crying, "Fi Fi mommy daddy!!!" She hit my ribs and I almost cried with her. Logan had to catch me or we probably would've fallen down the stairs. After he steadied me I picked her up and walked up the remaining steps to the front door where Allison was standing, "Sorry Fia. She's been upset all night. We were just getting around to go up and see Tj and Jenny." Logan walked past me into the house in search of Trent and Allison turned back to me with a little twinkle in her eye, "So what's new on that front?" I scoffed, "What front? There is no front there. He let me stay over last night in his guest room so we could just come here earlier. I'm not supposed to drive with the pain meds I'm on." She nodded and sighed, "Damn I thought he'd finally made a move." I shook my head, "That's not possible he is way out of my league no way would he ever come down to my level and make a move. There's no way he's interested." She laughed, "Oh hunny you havent ever noticed the way he looks at you?" I furrowed my brows and shook my head. Trent walked up before we could continue the conversation though. He tried to take Samantha from me but she immediately started screaming, "No!!!! No!! Fi Fi wan Fi Fi!" I started bouncing her and shushed her. Trent blew out a big huff, "Fine. Allison can you drive Fia and Samantha? I'll ride with Logan." She nodded and smiled deviously. As soon as we were in the car and Sam was buckled in she let me in on her plan. "So next Friday we are going out you know? You never come out with us but this time you have to come! We'll make sure you look hot! Then you'll definitely see that Logan is into you. He'll have to make a move! Come shopping with me after this and we'll get you a smokin outfit?" I grimaced, "I don't know." She held up her hand not taking no for an answer. Things like this make me wonder if this is what its like having sisters instead of brothers. The gap between Jenny and I was just a little too large for us to be close. Allison on the other hand was only 3 years older than me though so we were pretty close. She texted me more than Trent did. Although I know part of it was checking in for Trent it was still nice.

We walked up to the hospital, me carrying Sam who was being grumpy. I smiled, "Hey Sam do you know who we are here to see?" She shook her little head, "We are here to see your momma and daddy and your new little brother!" Her eyes lit up and she squealed, "Mommy! Daddy!" Allison laughed and held the door open for us. Trent and Logan were a few minutes behind us. They walked in with a mcdonalds bag. I shot them a weird look and Logan winked, "Shh dont tell Jenny." I shook my head and went to check in with the receptionist. Allison nudged me and giggled. She was reading way too into everything. Tj walked out and practically inhaled the food. Samantha settled on his lap while he ate sharing his hash brown with her, "Man hospital food is awful! We should be out by tomorrow though. They only keep her for 48 hours since everything went good. I'm going to go home tonight and get the last final preparations done so I can keep Sam. Thanks for watching her last night guys." Trent nodded, "Anytime but I dont think she got much sleep. All she wanted was you guys." He stroked her hair and within minutes she was passed out. Allison and I went up to visit with Jenny for a bit but when Tj came back up we left. Trent and Logan were waiting for us downstairs, but before they could say a word Allison announced, "I'm taking Fia shopping. She's coming out with us next Friday and needs a new outfit! We'll see you at home. Or I can take her home whichever. We'll text you later bye guys!" I was dragged out the front door and we were off to the mall. She had me try on so many things I was exhausted by the time we were done. I ended up with a red sweater dress and black boots. I finished the outfit with a black leather jacket and she made me promise to do a smokey eye and red lipstick. She had been texting Trent who said that Logan had gone home so she was just going to drop me off at his place since my stuff was still there. When we pulled up the same little red slug bug was in the driveway as this morning when the blonde came over. She frowned when she saw it so I explained, "Thats the girl who came back for her swimsuit this morning. Sorry but can you just take me to my apartment? I dont want to go in and interrupt whatever is going on in there." Inside I was crushed. I knew he didnt like me but Allison was making me start to get my hopes up. I shouldve known he was lying when he said that girl was Teagans friend. What I don't understand is why he lied. I'm not his keeper. It shouldn't matter if I know he has a girlfriend or not. I guess Allison could tell I was dissapointed, "I'm sorry Fia. I really thought he was interested." I just nodded and looked out the window. A couple minutes later she huffed, "You are still coming Friday. We'll just show him what he's missing out on! Plus we'll have some fun. A girl needs a good night out every once in awhile right?" I nodded again and rode the rest of the way in silence. She offered to walk me up but I waved her off wanting to be alone.
