You remembered that?

✧~𝑿𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓~✧ I was already cutting the carrots, that auntieβ€” Astrid's mom, which I learned to call auntie by now told me that I can help. I was cutting the carrots while she was busy cutting the onions, I paused and looked at Astrid who was smiling on her own, while looking at us. She's in a trance. "Why are you smiling on your own, Astrid?" I asked her not really expecting a reply but luckily I had one. A half positive and half negative reply, though. "Why are you not minding your own business?" She said and gave me a death glare, I chuckled and shook my head. She was pissed I ruined her happy moment again. I need to know what she was thinking again. That cute little head of hers was always keeping so many things away from me, and the fact that she was pissed was a sign that she did enjoy what she was thinking, or dreaming. This girl really knows how to f*****g turn me on. "Done, auntie. What else?" I finally got to say when I was finished cutting the last carrot. "That would be okay, thank you." I just nod and searched my eyes for Astrid again. The last time I saw where she were, was on the sink. This time she was nowhere to be seen. The little girl must've explored again. "Who are you looking for? stop looking at the kitchen like that." A soft voice suddenly spoke making me sighed in relief. She was just in front of me, yet I searched the whole room to find her. She's so blinding. "Just you," I answered and looked at her reaction and her brows were already furrowed. I smiled and went to the sink to clean my hands. "Let's go outside, Astrid. The weather is cloudy today, not got to burn your skin." I said that not minding that someone could hear me. "Mom?" She muttered, but just enough to make me hear it and probably her mother. "Go on, we can all do this." "Thanks, auntie." I squeezed in before Astrid could open her mouth. She threw me a death glare making me smirk. I already fried my hand and went up to her and pulled her out of the kitchen to the back door. I'm craving for what she was thinking earlier. But my craving for her soul and body was in dangerous length. "What's the favor?" She asked when we finally both got to sit down on the usual spot on the gardenβ€” our bench. I furrowed my brows this time because of confusion. Favor? What favor? Was she talking about the way I just helped her earlier with her mother? "Don't act stupid, Xander. We both know you're going to ask a favor again for helping me earlier!" She exclaimed making me chuckled. "Stop! Stop!" she said furiously. This girl really knows how to make my day, not do some real damage, though. I stopped. "I'm not going to as a favor, Astrid." I said and pinched her right cheek. It was already red with anger. She finally breathes heavily and looked at me straight in the eye. "I just want to ask a question." I said before she could speak and accuse me as a liar again. I'm damn sure i'm not going to ask any question. "Okay... What is it?" She asked, a hint of nervousness was in her tone. "Relax, Astrid. I'm not going to ask a million dollar question." I assured her. "Tsk. A million dollar is already big, but what is it?" She asked again. "What were you thinking earlier?" "Earlier?" She repeated with furrowed brows. "Hmm." I hummed reading her. She was indeed forgetful. I thought auntie was just– "Nothing. You don't need to know that." She answered. "Lying, Astrid. What is it?" I demanded with soft voice. I swear I wouldn't raise my tone at her at any means. I just hope so. It would be a huge shift for her. For me, just by raising my voice. It wouldn't just scare her, it would hurt her. "Fine..." She said giving up making me smile. "Go, on. I'll just listen." I said and she nodded. She looked at me and looked at the grass again. By now, she's still battling with herself if she would tell me or not. "I just remembered when I cut my finger...." She paused. "Because you reminded me of it....uhm, when you said you could slice the carrots." She breathes. "And.... Uhm, i just remembered you were a kitty cat, until today." She said and turned to me smiling innocently. "No, I'm not" I protested. "Yes, you are! You were all worried and you're still are. What a kitty cat!" She teased and started giggling. It was still great than being called a p***y, though. I wouldn't accept someone calling me that unless they're not referring to hers. Which they wouldn't because they'll be ending up with a knife in their throat after finishing the words that would come out from their mouth. "Fine, fine." I said in defeat. "But that's because it was you who got hurt." I said and her lips instantly formed a full pout. I chuckled at her reaction. It was f*****g addicting. "Not because! You're lying, Xander! My best friend in the whole world is lying!" she called out. This silly girl really knows how to get everyone's attention when it was just for me. I badly want to change that word bestfriend into something more. Now, I'm regretting that i've told her we were bestfriends. I was about to talk when someone spoke. "Sir? Breakfast is ready." The voice said and i just nod. I looked at Astrid and her chesnut brown eyes were already looking into mine. "Let's go, Astrid. Let's eat dinner with mom." I said and held her wrist jerking both of our body from the bench. "You can go eat, Xander. I'm still not hungry." She responded. I raised a brow. "I am...." She whispered. "No you're not, let's go." I said and pulled her gently towards the back door. "You eat, Xander! I'll just eat later!" She said trying to break from the grip but it was no use. I was still stronger than her.
