“Hey! Rookie! Did you get my coffee?” Senior Detective Murphy hollered across the office.
Jaxon resisted the urge to roll his eyes, and instead, in light joking manner replied. “I know you are old, Murphy, but your legs still work last I knew!”
Jaxon Allen Lee was a new detective to the small town’s precinct, and even though he graduated the Academy top of his class, he could not seem to get an ounce of respect from the ‘seasoned vets’ that ruled this town. Even though he saw more gruesome crime scenes in his training years than they probably have in their entire careers, they still treated him like fresh meat straight from the market.
