Chapter 2: Someone to Fear
Anya came home that night to an empty house and rolled her eyes. Of course, her parents were not home, they never were. She found a note on the counter from her Mom stating that they had gone out to dinner with some clients, and then were leaving from dinner to go to Washington DC for a business meeting the next day. Frustrated, Anya kicked the kitchen island and grunted loudly at the pain in her foot. Ever since her mom married her step dad, she was never around.
