INFILTRATION

739 Words
Seventeen days earlier Brian who had never shifted fully into a bear since finding out about his powers underwent one under the supervision of Braeden. It was agonizing but felt really good. His vision was blurry, his hearing was distorted due to it being his first full shift. He was yet to be in sync with his animal side but he felt really powerful. He had never felt so alive. After a few hours of recovery, Brian went home with Mitchell to recover the stone needed for the location of his mom. The stones passed down through generations contained magical powers that served only the bears. Created by witches, it helped the bears locate eachother in times of danger. Over the years, the bears found other purposes for the stones. A weapon is only as good as the wielder and also as evil as the wielder. All but one stone were destroyed bringing back sanity to the community. Holding the stone, Brian felt like it was communicating to him. It glowed warmly blue colours to his eyes giving off a relaxed aura. The stone glows in the hands of supernaturals but retain it's white colour in the hands of humans. Six days after obtaining the stone, Brian now in sync with his animal side tried to locate his mom for the eleventh time after failing the previous trials which he also failed. “Why am I the only one trying to locate her" Brian inquired with frustration in his eyes. To find their mom, the stone and a bear closest to her were needed. “Because I am yet to awaken my bear side" Eric replied with a calming smile to mask his disturbed feelings. Surprised? Eric never got to awaken his bear abilities since killing Mia awakening his wolf abilities in the process. To unlock his mother side abilities, he needed to experience enough trauma just like Brian did to ignite his bear abilities. Although he's had his share of traumatizing experiences, his wolf genes supresses his bear genes making it impossible for him to activate his bear abilities.  Eric's revelation answered a few of Mitchell's questions earning a bit of trust from Mitchell. Brian on the other hand could tell Eric wasn't lying. Mitchell eventually deduced a solution to Brian's failure. “To look for someone, you have to know what they look like, right?" Mitchell quizzed. On the next try with Eric implanting his memories of his mother unto Brian, they located the Hunter's Bunker. Mitchell feeling graceful “Ain't you gonna say thanks?" Laughter erupted throughout the group. It had been an exhaustive week and they needed to blow some steam off after all. D-day After a successful infiltration, Eric had fifteen minutes to look for his mom before he ran out of stored up moonlight in his cells. A small appearance on the outside, the bunker was huge on the inside filled with hidden rooms. Fifteen minutes was such a short time without his abilities but with the help of Dr Alfred who he had on the inside, he had it easy navigating his way. In the prisoners level of the building were different beings a lot of which he had never encountered, some considered extinct in agony, pain. Their eyes were filled with hopelessness, devoid of life. It was a sad sight to behold. The mission was going smoothly, far too easy. For all the buffering up of the security, Eric had no difficulty on his way. Something was off. Eric located his mother deep into the bunker in a more fortified environment and also there was Dr Alfred...locked up. “Hey Eric, nice to see you again. You look much more like your father but you seem to have grown more stupid. Your father, may his soul rest in peace would've never risk the lives of his pack for a single soul. This should be entertaining" Nelson Smith; the leader of the hunters spoke over PA. Immediately after, doors guarding his mother's and other prisoners cells sealed shut. Artificial moonlight filled up the room. Danger was about to rear it's head. The cell doors of each prisoners opened up and out they came towards Eric. These beings excluding lady Gabrielle were werewolves who had been denied the power of moonlight for seventeen years. His mother on the other hand looked flaccid. She didn't even who Eric was. It was bloodlust driven werewolves vs Eric who had two people to protect; his mother and Dr Alfred. Deaths certainly await.
