Salvador Dimitri POV
I sat on my throne-like chair, the room's eerie and cold atmosphere a testament to my presence. I watched as the shadow personnel shivered under my glare, their silent a sign of the respect and fear I commanded.
One of my men, a man, stammered out a report,“ This…. Master, we didn't know how it happened…. The only thing we heard about… was…… was… was… her death” he paused, taking a deep breath. I could see the fear in him, his back bent, body shivering.
“ And there was some news about her….. her being betrayed by her people!” he continued.
I raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the mention of betrayal, but before I could ask any questions, my secretary, Jasper, spoke up. “ The Peterson matters, my lord!”
“ They requested for the payment before the bride could be delivered, my lord” he replied, his head bowed.
I turned my gaze to Jasper, my eyes narrowing “ You heed to it?” I asked, my voice low and husky.
Jasper shivered, as he always did when I spoke to him.
Thou, Jasper is a new secretary, the last 105 Secretaries were all fired for a reason. The last one had been a bad experience, a gold-digger who had tried to seduce me.
“ The Peterson company is going down the drain, my lord,” Jasper muttered.
“ I see!.... No wonder they sold one of their own!” My voice was cold and calculating.
Just as I was about to respond, the door burst open, and a woman stumbled in. She was clearly drugged, her eyes unfocused and her movements unsteady.
Her outfit was…. unusual, to say the least, it looked like a rug with tassels and fringes, and it seemed to be all over her body.
My gaze locked onto her, my interest piqued. “Who was this woman, and what was she doing here?” She stumbled forward, her eyes fixed on me with a desperate plea.
“ Please,” she begged, falling to her knees in front of me, “ They're after me. I don't know what they want, but I know I've to get away from them.”
I watched her, my expression unreadable. But as she promised to do anything to escape her pursuers, my eyes gleamed with interest.
Anything. she said, what exactly did she mean by that?
The woman's eye locked onto mine, her desperation clear,“ Anything ” She repeated, her voice firm. “ I'll do whatever you want, just please, help me.”
I raised an eyebrow, intrigued by her willingness to submit. “ Stand up,” I commanded, my voice dripping with authority. “ Let's see what you're offering.”
The woman stood up, her legs wobbly beneath her. my gaze roamed over her, taking in her bizarre outfit and her desperate expression. I could sense the fear emanating from her, but I also sensed a determination to survive.
—
I watched as the guard carefully placed the woman into the backseat of my car. She was still under the influence of the drug, her eyes unfocused and her body limp.
“ Meet me in the house Jasper, you still need to inform me of what the hell is going on!” I said.
I got into the car beside her, my eyes never leaving her face. The driver started the engine, and we pulled away from the club, navigating through the crowded streets.
As we drove, the woman's head lolled to the side, her eyes fluttering closed. I reached out and gently pulled her into a more upright position, my hand brushing against her bare skin.
She didn't respond, her body still under the control of the drug. I watched her, my eyes narrowing as I assessed her condition.
After a while, the car pulled up to my mansion, the gates opening with a quiet creak. We drove up the winding driveway, the trees and gardens passing by in a blur.
The car stopped in front of the mansion, and the driver got out to open the door. I stepped out first, then reached in to retrieve the woman.
She was still out cold, her body limp in my arms. I carried her into the mansion, the cool air-conditioned interior a welcome respite from the heat outside.
I took her to my private quarters, where my doctor was waiting. "Administer the antidote," I commanded, my voice low.
The doctor nodded and quickly injected the woman with the substance. We waited in silence as the antidote took effect, the woman's body slowly coming back online.
As the minutes passed, the woman's eyes began to flutter open. She looked around, confused, before her gaze landed on me. For a moment, she stared at me blankly, her expression unreadable.
Then, her eyes went wide, and she blanked out again, her body going limp in my arms. I smiled to myself, intrigued by her reaction. This was going to be interesting.
I stood there, holding the woman's limp body, my mind racing with possibilities. She might know me, or she might not. But one thing was certain: she was mine now.
I smiled to myself, a plan forming in my mind. I would take care of her, nurse her back to health, and then...then I would see how she reacted to me.
The doctor's voice broke into my thoughts. "My lord, she's coming again."
I looked down at the woman, her eyes fluttering open once more. This time, she looked at me with a hint of recognition, a spark of awareness in her gaze.
"Who am I?" she whispered, her voice barely audible.
I smiled, my eyes locked onto hers. "You don't remember?" I asked, my voice low and husky.
She shook her head, her eyes scanning her surroundings. "Where am I?" she asked, her voice growing stronger.
I didn't answer her question. Instead, I leaned in closer, my face inches from hers. "You're safe now," I whispered. "You're with me."
The woman's eyes locked onto mine, a mix of fear and uncertainty in her gaze. I could see the questions forming in her mind, the doubts and the fears.
But I wouldn't answer her questions. Not yet. First, I would make her mine. Completely and utterly mine. She is gonna be Salvador's own.
