Knock* “Alice! I can still hear you, go to bed now, you have class tomorrow.” I heard my dad say it from outside. “Yes dad, I will. Mackie is just checking up on me.” I said. “Just finish that ok? Continue the chitchat you’re having when you meet at school ok?” My dad said and still, he is standing at my door. I open my door to look at him and I flash a smile. “Yes, daddy. I love you” I said and he smiled back. I watched him walk away and waited for him to open his room door. He paused and looked back at me. I grin. “And also, please take a quick bath. You smell like sh*t” My dad said and I rolled my eyes. “I will!” I said and locked my door. I go to my balcony and get back to Mackie. “I have to go,” I said. No one answered. I hear a snore and that is probably him. I dropped the call and prepared my clothes. I take off my jacket and look at the mirror. I rolled my eyes when I saw the hickey I have on my neck. What the hell! I hate that evil b***h. I said and rolled my eyes. I go to the bathroom and have myself a quick bath. After that I applied my skincare routine and some chopsticks, to moisturize my lips. I looked at the mirror. I suddenly felt her lips. “What is wrong with you?” I scolded myself and pursed my lips. I look at the hickey once again. “i***t,” I murmured and went to my bed. I hate her so much. Morning came and I was high. I feel like my head is floating. I feel like I have a hangover. “Good morning dad,” I said. “Good mo— whoa, what's wrong sweetheart?” My dad asked and I just gave him a boring look. “You look like a zombie.” My dad said and I smirked. “I feel like I am so high. Like I am floating.” I said and my dad smiled. “Did you have some beer?” My dad said and I looked at him. “Yes, you do.” My dad said and gave me coffee and medicine. “Drink this before you leave ok?” My dad said and I immediately drank the medicine. I drink the coffee and spit almost half of it. “What the heck?! This is too strong! Eww! Ew! Ew!” I said and immediately rinsed my mouth with water. I saw my dad laughing and I glared at him. “Seriously?” I said and got back to my seat. “Well, that’s the price of drinking too much alcohol. You have to get used to it if you want to have a late-night party with your friends.” My dad said and laughed. “They are not my friends,” I said and my dad shrugged his shoulders. “Anyway, I have to go. See you later.” My dad said and kissed me on top of my head. “And by the way, I have to meet that guy.” He said before leaving. What? Is he delusional? “What?” I said and followed him outside. “If he can give my baby a hickey then he better gives me some respect.” My dad said and started the car engine. “What!?” I said confusingly and he raised his eyebrow at me. “I saw that, I just felt like you needed time to tell me,” he said and left me hanging. I screamed in annoyance, then suddenly Mackie came. “What’s with that crazy and loud scream?” He said and I just rolled my eyes at him. “What?” He added but I entered the house. I feel Mackie followed me inside and I turned around to face him. “I hate you,” I said and he gave me a confusing look. “You hate me?” He asked and sat on the couch. “My dad wants to know who the f8cking person put this mark on me!” I said and Mackie gave me a shocked look. “I don’t know what I will do,” I said and began to feel devastated. “Just calm down. We can say that it was a game and that is just a dare?” Mackie said. What a stupid idea. “Really? Do you think he can believe that? Dude, I have like two marks?” I said and Mackie laughed. “Then bring Margarette here. He just said that he wanted to see who put that.” Mackie said and I rolled my eyes in annoyance. “Are you like, DELUSIONAL?” I said and Mackie shrugged. “MARGARETTE TOPAZ IS “SHE”. My dad is expecting a “HE”.” I said and dropped myself to the couch. I feel like I just wanted to be gone. “What is wrong with that?” Mackie asked and I glared at him. “What is wrong with you!? You are not helping!” I said and Mackie zipped his mouth. Suddenly, we heard the school bus come. “I better think of a good and believable solution,” I murmured to myself and got on the bus. “I thought your car was already fixed?” I asked Mackie because as far as I remember, we use his car when we go to the party. “Yes, and no.” He said and I gave him a confused look. “It was fixed but when we got home, I bumped into something and my dad heard that and I am grounded.” He said and gave me an awful laugh. “Oh my gosh. You are an idiot.” I said and laughed. We got to the school and I saw Margarette flirting with Troy. How can I even talk to her? She is so untouchable. I looked at her and she rolled her eyes at me. Ugh. That b***h. I walked to Mackie and I saw him having a conversation with a cute guy. “Excuse me, can I borrow Mackie? For a while? I mean right now.”  I said and he immediately left. “What is wrong with you?” Mackie said and I arc my eyebrow. “You drag me to that stupid party, so you better help me,” I said and Mackie rolled his eyes. “Fine. What’s the catch?” He said. “Did you see Margarette?” I asked and he looked around. “Yes, and Oh my gosh, she is slaying that skirt. I love the outfit.” Mackie said and I glared at him. “Can you see that? She is a girl. How can I even make her see my dad?” I asked and Mackie pursed his lips. “You have a point,” Mackie said. “Well, actually you can just say that it was a dare and you have to do that because of the punishment.” He added. “That is a great idea if your dad is not a sheriff. He could have told every parent about that behavior and what is next? They will all hate me? And my life will be forever ruined!” I said without cutting my words. I need to catch my breath. “Chill girl. You’re saying and thinking too much. Just cut the crap ok? I will think about this. Just give me some time.” Mackie said. The bell rang and we got into our class. I have my gym class and I need to change my clothes. “Hey Alice, How was the kiss?” A girl asked me. I don’t know who she is but she is another b***h. “None of your business,” I said and rolled my eyes. “Maddie, stop that. Don’t be rude.” A girl in the locker said. This is pretty annoying. I changed my clothes and when I walked outside, I saw Margarette standing at the door. “What took you so long, freak?” She asked. I rolled my eyes and she did the same thing. Of course. I walked to my locker and I put the clothes inside. I saw Margarette putting lipstick on. Should I talk to her? I let out a deep sigh and approached Margarette. “Hey,” I said and poke her. “What is your problem?” She asked and I gave her an awkward smile. “This may be awkward, but what happened last night is kinda weird, and my dad saw the mark you gave…” I said and awkwardly laughed. “And he wants to meet the person who put this in me.” I continue, “Please…” I said and held her hands. I watched her look at me from head to toe and rolled her eyes. “First of all. GET YOUR FILTHY HANDS OFF ME!” She said and I immediately let go. “Second. What happened that night in the closet? STAYS. THERE.” She said and crossed her arms. She looked at me from head to foot and rolled her eyes. “LASTLY. Who are you to ask me a favor? ARE YOU DAMAGED?” she asked and smirked. “Find another solution for your awful self, I won't waste my time talking to a loser.” She said and walked away. I waited until she was finally gone. “I F*CKING HATE YOU!” I shouted and crumpled my fist. What the hell is wrong with her!? I calm myself and look at myself in the mirror. “You better think of another plan,” I murmured to myself. I went to the gym and I saw Margarette talking to her squad. They are laughing. They are looking at me. I saw Margarette roll her eyes at me. AGAIN. And AGAIN. Ugh, I hate this freaking school. I hate them all, they are causing me anxiety. Our gym teacher came and asked us to run three laps in the oval. “Seriously?” I said in the back of my mind. When he whistled, we all ran. I can hear my teacher’s voice. It’s getting on my nerves. Time runs fast. One lapse left and I can’t feel my feet. I saw my classmates nearly walking, and our teacher kept on shouting. I looked to my right and I saw Margarette. Is she fine? I know she has light skin, but today it seems to be a little weird. More minutes came. “Margarette!” I shouted as I saw Margarette slowly fall. I immediately approach her and manage to catch her, especially the head. The professor came and we immediately rushed Margarette to the school clinic. “What happened?” The school nurse asked and my teacher just looked at me. Am I obligated to answer? “I don’t know, we are just asked to run three laps, and we are in the second lap when I just realized that Margarette seems to be a little pale. I mean, she has very light skin but the paleness is visible. Are you getting my point?” I asked and the nurse nodded her head. “I mean that’s it! That is all I know. After that, I saw her slowly falling and I tried to do my best to catch her.” I said and the nurse grabbed my arm. “I see that’s why you have bruises. I thought you two got into a fight.” The nurse said and began to check Margarette. “Margarette is fine. She is just tired. Over-fatigue.” The nurse said and smiled at me. “Now, the heroes turn.” She said and I rolled my eyes. “Glad you tried to catch her. That helps to prevent more complications.” The nurse said and I just gave her a fake smile. “Good to know that it is because of that.” Our teacher said and he began to relax. She is sweating earlier. “I have to go and check on my class now.” He said and left. “Here you go.” She said and smiled at me. “She is very lucky to have a friend like you.” She added. “She is not my friend,” I said and she shrugged. I rolled my eyes in annoyance and grabbed my things. “I have to go,” I said. “Where are you going?” The nurse said and looked at me. “To the class? Obviously.” I said and held the doorknob. “Wait until your friend is awake.” She said and I glared at her. “I said, I. AM. NOT. HER. FRIEND. We hate each other.” I said and gave her a sarcastic smile. “Then why did you catch her?” She asked. Seriously? “Let’s just say that I AM NOT AN EVIL b***h LIKE HER? That I still know what it feels to be a human?” I said and looked at Margarette. “I am hearing that.” The Nurse said and I smiled. Finally! “But you still have to stay.” She said, I dropped myself to the couch and she smiled at me. I rolled my eyes at her and looked at my phone. Is this because we are nearly the same age? Like we are 17 and from what I am hearing, the school nurse is just 23? Whatever, it’s really hard to deal with the old people. My phone vibrated and I saw Mackie text me. “Heard to save Margarette” He said. I immediately compose a reply. How did you know? I said and I saw him replied immediately The whole school knows. He said. WHAT THE HELL? Here’s the video. He sent me a link to the video and I saw myself running and trying to catch Margarette.
